Waggoner differentiates itself as a leader in growth strategy for water and disaster recovery, as well as providing full engineering services; we need people who are inspired for future growth, engage as leaders in their respective fields, and deliver to both internal and external clients.\nIf you are tired of hearing “we’ve always done it this way”; if you have a work hard/play hard attitude; and if you enjoy working with a vast team of professionals across various disciplines, you will fit right into our culture.\nYour Primary Responsibilities will include\nPerforms engineering analysis and design for bridges and related structures, including new construction and rehabilitation.\nConducts assessment and evaluation of existing bridge structural conditions and develops recommended remedial measures.\nPerforms as-design, as-built, and condition bridge load ratings in accordance with governing AASHTO and client specifications.\nPrepares construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for contracting and bidding of construction projects.\nPerforms construction phase engineering, including periodic on-site reviews, in collaboration with the Construction Services team.\nUnderstands typical bridge constructability areas of focus, including multi-phased construction, transportation, and erection of various bridge components.\nMaintains and documents written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.\nConducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.\nAttends meetings on project management.\nAssists Project Managers with administrative duties concerning completion of assigned projects, including review of schedules, scopes and budgets.\nAssists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.\nProvides technical guidance and training to members of the project team.\nPrepares project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.\nAssists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.\nAssists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.\nMaintains responsibility for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.\nMaintains responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.\nMinimum of 8 years of bridge and related structural design experience, including 5+ years of experience in the technical production of engineering projects, including significant direct experience on projects involving the planning, design, and evaluation of bridges. \nExtensive knowledge of the LADOTD Bridge Design policies, procedures, and memoranda preferred.\nAbility to prepare engineering records and write concise technical reports.\n Certifications/Registrations\nLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana is required.\nLicensure as a PE or ability to obtain such in contiguous states is desired. \nCertifications applicable to civil engineering, structural and bridge design and inspection desired.\nOther Knowledge and Skills\nProficient in design using Bentley LEAP or other LADOTD approved software. \nMicrostation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience software is preferred. \nAdvanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required. \nKnowledge of design, on-line reports and databases preferred.\nSuperior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company products and operations. \n\nWhy Join Our Team\nAbout Waggoner\n\n Waggoner is a multidisciplinary infrastructure and advisory firm focused on transforming communities and advancing the systems that support them.
