This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys leading field operations, working with modern surveying technology, and contributing to a variety of civil engineering and land development projects.\nThe Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for overseeing field survey activities, performing data collection and field computations, and ensuring accurate and efficient completion of survey assignments. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading a multi-person crew while also working independently as needed.\n\nThis position requires fieldwork throughout New England, including Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts, with occasional overnight travel.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead field survey operations as a Crew Chief, managing a multi-person crew and/or working independently on a variety of assignments\nPerform field data collection and computations for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, and construction layout surveys\nOperate and maintain modern surveying equipment, including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, and automatic and digital levels\nUtilize Carlson and Topcon instruments and software to support accurate and efficient field operations\nInterpret survey plans, engineering drawings, maps, and project specifications to complete field assignments\nEnsure fieldwork is performed in accordance with applicable operating procedures, safety requirements, and equipment maintenance instructions\nWork effectively across a variety of terrains and seasonal weather conditions\nCollaborate proactively with team members and project personnel to support successful project delivery\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nHigh School diploma or GED required; Associates in related field preferred\n3-5 years of land surveying experience with at least 1 year of experience as a crew chief\nDemonstrated experience with data collection and field computations for boundaries, topographic, ALTA surveys, and construction layout\nKnowledge of modern surveying equipment, instruments, and methods\nExperience operating robotic total stations, GNSS receivers for static and RTK network data collection, and automatic and digital levels\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey\nAbility to read and interpret operating procedures, safety documents, maintenance instructions, maps, plans, and survey and engineering drawings\nAbility to work independently while proactively collaborating with a team.\nStrong oral and written communication skills\n Preferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with MassDOT Civil 3D coding and standards\nFamiliarity with NHDOT and VTrans (VAOT) MicroStation/OpenRoads coding and standards\nExperience with Carlson and Topcon surveying instruments and software\nWhy You’ll Love Working with Us\nSchedule Flexibility: Customize your work schedule to fit your life.\n Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits to keep you and your family healthy.\n Continuous Learning: Access to online courses, conferences, and learning materials to fuel your professional growth.\nPaid Time Off: Take the time you need to recharge with our generous paid time off policy.\n Career Advancement: Clear paths for promotions and the opportunity to take on new challenges.\n Fun Team Culture: Regular team-building activities, happy hours, and company outings.\n\nThe base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting.
