most of these positions will report directly to the field/project.\nThe Transportation Technician V is responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.\n\nField Support and Perks\nWe understand that CEI Inspectors spend most of provided to assist with career development.\nWhat you will lead:\nA daily documentation of the contractor’s work efforts.\nProject field book preparation and documentation.\nDensity log book preparation and documentation.\nMaterial sampling and testing.\nAssisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package.\nMeasures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.\nVerifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.\nObserve work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.\nObtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.\nExamines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.\nRecords quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.\nMaintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.\n KSA’s:\nReceives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems. \nAssists Senior Inspectors and/or Project Administrator with completion of specific tasks and assists in all phases of the construction project. \nResponsible for preparing backup documentation for progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.\n\nWhat you bring:\nHigh school graduate with 12+ years experience in construction inspection, 8+ years of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection.\nAAS Civil Engineering Technology plus 10+ years experience; with at least 8+ year roadway construction inspection experience.\nValid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.\nComplete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).\nPosition requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).\nAbility
