As a Utilities Engineer - Transportation you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.\nWhat are the core responsibilities for the role?\nWork with a project team consisting of engineers, designers, third-party/utility coordinators and field personnel involved in the design, relocation, coordination, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems as part of large-scale transportation projects\nWork on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues\nCoordinate utility relocation/coordination efforts on behalf of Federal, State, and Local agencies or utility infrastructure owners\nFollow Federal, State and Local codes, administrative rules, ordinances, regulations and requirements\nCoordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements\nWork with a team for the execution of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering and coordination work\nAssist with preparation, review, and/or approval of proposals, contracts, and cost estimates\nAssist with negotiation of revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clients\nWork with a team to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget\nPrepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements\nPerform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation \nLeadership opportunities depending on experience\nQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree\nProfessional Engineering License\n5+ years of total experience\n2+ years of experience in transportation engineering, design or construction fields\nAbility to effectively contribute to engineering, design or construction projects\nProficiency in MicroStation (ORD)\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required\nWhy would a candidate want this job?\n At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
