Transporeon, part of Trimble's Transportation & Logistics division, operates one of the world's largest freight collaboration platforms, processing millions of transport orders annually across global markets.\nAbout the Role:\nJoin our Autonomous Procurement Carrier Experienceteam as a Senior Software Engineerto design and build full-stack features for the unified carrier product-loadboard workflows and autonomous quotation-on a production TypeScript application. You'll extend an inherited Helios codebase (React, Node, GraphQL) and integrate platform services such as Smart Tendering, while using AI-assisted development to ship safely and quickly. Our globally distributed, async-first team values autonomy, quality craftsmanship, and pragmatic problem-solving. We prioritize deep work by defaulting to Slack & Notion for collaboration, keeping synchronous meetings to a purposeful minimum. We ship iteratively, prioritize clear communication, and believe in raising the engineering bar through continuous engineering excellence and career development.\nAbout Autonomous Procurement & Carrier Experience:\nYou'll help own solutions that power our carrier-facing experience-enabling carriers to discover and respond to loads and to run autonomous quotation (rules, live quoting, and related workflows). The product direction unifies board and quoting in one coherent application rather than splitting them across disconnected tools.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement highly available, scalable backend services and APIs that orchestrate complex carrier and quotation workflows across distributed systems (GraphQL and REST; service-to-service communication; event-driven architectures)\n\nArchitect resilient service designs and data models that handle high-volume transaction processing, ensuring performance under load and graceful degradation\n\nContinuously improve reliability, performance, and scalability through profiling, observability, and load testing\n\nImplement comprehensive security, data protection, and fault-tolerance patterns for critical carrier and procurement operations\n\nBuild and operate asynchronous processing pipelines (workers/jobs, event consumers) for quoting outcomes, notifications, and related automation\n\nDesign caching strategies, database optimization, and service orchestration patterns to achieve strong response times at scale\n\nBuild, test, and ship user-facing web experiences with high performance and accessibility\n\nContribute to architecting and designing scalable frontend architecture within an existing production app\n\nOwn entire features from specification to shipping, including technical planning, estimation, and rollout-including extending and modernizing a large inherited codebase\n\nCollaborate with product managers and designers to shape solutions and deliver iteratively (including information architecture and UX improvements, not only visual polish)\n\nWork effectively with a high degree of autonomy in a globally distributed, async-first team\n\nParticipate in code reviews, raise engineering standards, and reduce technical debt through pragmatic refactors\n\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate feature delivery, refactoring, and debugging while maintaining code quality, test coverage, and system observability\n\nMentor other developers and help establish coding standards and best practices\n\nRequirements:\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful ownership of production systems\n\nStrong written communication skills and comfort working asynchronously across time zones\n\nComfort extending and operating a large existing production codebase(not greenfield-only)\n\nStrong backend experience building services in TypeScript / Node.jsin cloud or containerized environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure-experience in any one is fine)\n\nExperience with modern Node backend patterns and tools (e.g. Koaor Express-like frameworks, Apollo GraphQLor equivalent, TypeORMor similar ORMs, Vitest/Jest or similar)\n\nSolid database skills with PostgreSQL(schema design, indexing, query performance)\n\nExperience designing and consuming GraphQLAPIs (schema design, resolvers, error handling, auth patterns); REST experience is a plus\n\nFamiliarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture; ability to reason about tradeoffs\n\nExperience with (or clear adjacent experience toward) event-drivensystems-Kafkastrongly preferred (or comparable queues/pub-sub and consumer patterns)\n\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI etc.) to accelerate delivery while maintaining high engineering standards (clear intent, good tests, safe changes, and debuggable code)\n\nSolid frontend experience building modern web apps (Reactpreferred; Angular/Vue acceptable)\n\nDeep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and modern CSS; strong UX/UI instincts and accessibility basics\n\nExperience with CI/CD, testing strategies (unit/integration/e2e), and code quality practices\n\nBonus points for:\nKafka in production (consumers, producers, failure modes, observability)\n\nElasticsearch (or similar search/analytics stores)\n\nContainers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes\n\nMulti-cloud familiarity (AWS / GCP / Azure)-helpful for cross-pod work, not a hard filter\n\nAuth/tenancy patterns: OIDC/OAuth, JWT, SAML, multi-tenant B2B SaaS\n\nVite, React Router, CSS-in-JS or utility CSS systems (e.g. vanilla-extract)\n\nObservability: Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, or similar\n\nExperience shipping B2B SaaS products in complex domains (logistics, procurement, marketplaces)\n\nPrior Python/Flask/Celery experience (useful for collaborating with adjacent services)-not required for this role’s primary stack\n\nWhy You'll Love Working With Us\nAt Trimble, we're not just a company that \"does good\"-we are a team dedicated to making a tangible, positive Real-World Impact.
