Find out more about our company and culturehere.\n*Applicants must be local to New Bedford, MA and available for immediate start*\nSummary\nThe TRIMEDX Biomedical Engineering Intern gains on the job training by shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management. Duties include understanding the typical day of an engineer and how to work in a hospital environment, how to respond to service calls, balancing workload, documentation of repairs and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders, vendor management, learning how to calibrate equipment, troubleshooting techniques for various types of equipment, preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and how to repair equipment. In this position, you will perform preventative maintenance procedures, inventory validation, and have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.\nResponsibilities\nGain on the job training by shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management.\nUnderstand the typical day of an engineer and how to work in a hospital environment\nRespond to service calls\nLearn how to balance workload, document repairs and PMs, vendor management, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot equipment\nTrain on preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and how to repair equipment.\nPerform preventative maintenance procedures, inventory validation, and work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nEducation and Qualifications\nBe currently enrolled in an associate’s, technical degree program, or the TRIMEDX Trained Certification or an equivalent biomedical related certification program.\n\nExperience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred\n\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nMust be able to pass pre-employment screening which will include a limited background check and screen for illegal substance use.\n\nValid driver’s license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site or region that may require use of personal vehicle.\n\nThe hourly rate for this role is $20\n\nAt Trimedx, we are committed to cultivating a workplace culture where every associate feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
