GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Performsduties in Cath Lab related to the following procedures: diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations, pacemaker/ICDinsertion, coronary interventions including balloon pump insertion, PTCA’s, Atherectomy (Laser andRotablator), Stent, IVUS, myocardial biopsy,peripheralangiography and interventions,pericardiocentesis, and other cardiology procedures as assigned.Functionsas a member of theRegionalCath Lab Team to provide a safe, efficient environment. Mayrequire orienting, travel, working and call coverage between Boise and Nampa Cath Lab departmentsas needed.Maintainsaccurate and complete documentation of care provided. Servesas patient advocate. Utilizesresources wisely while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have one of the following:
Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or
Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Prior experienceasa staff member in a hospitalcathlab or Radiology Department(SpecialProcedures) preferred.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units,unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Othercertifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).
Revenue Management:ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
Performs all duties in thecathlab including scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating, which includes preparing and administering medications as directed by physician (Boise Only), performing and understanding digital imaging including dose and ensuring proper protection of staff and patient, ECG and Hemodynamic monitoring.
Prepares and assists in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
Anticipates and responds accordingly to needs of physician and patient.
Communicates clearly with patients the purpose and extent of procedures.
Contributes tothe comprehensivephysical and psychosocial assessments.
Participates in education of the patient based on assessed needs.
Contributes to development and implementation of elements of a plan of care based on patient's needs.
Communicates patient'scurrent statusand plan of care to other caregivers (verbally and in writing).
Prepares, administers and evaluates the effectiveness of medications (Boise Only).
Demonstrates safe operation of patient care equipment.
Advocates for the rights of patients.
Collaborateswith patients to provide nursing measures to alleviate or reduce pain.
Demonstrates therapeutic communication.
Establishes therapeutic and professional boundaries.
Integratesknowledge, experience, professional standards and hospital policies into practice.
Meets unit specific technical skills.
