This position is responsible for entering all patient claims into our computer system which will then determine the amount to be paid based on fees schedules established in the system (adjudication system) and resolving any discrepancies prior to submitting to accounts payable. Some communication with providers to resolve billing problems. Previous experience and knowledge of medical claims processing very helpful. Accuracy and speed due to high volume of claims. Professional communication skills, both written and oral. Works well with others in a small department.\nThis is an in-office position which requires the colleague to work within the office located at 433 River Street in Troy, New York.\nHours are Monday to Friday 8-430 or 830-5. Full orientation is provided.\n* Process billing for self-pay clients and contracted agencies\nObtain and manage service authorizations\nPrepare, review, and submit invoices and claims\nMonitor and reconcile cash postings\nFollow up on outstanding account balances to ensure timely resolution What We’re Looking For:\nStrong organizational and communication skills\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy\nProactive problem-solving mindset\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment\nRequirements:\nIdeal candidate should be very organized, patient, flexible and able to adapt well to changes. \nPrevious billing experience is required.\nHigh School Diploma required along \n2-3 years of experience in a billing position or a health care position.\nPrior authorization and/or billing is preferred\nPay range: $18.50-$24.66\nPay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
