Description:

Provides hospital and affiliated facilities with processed materials and equipment by executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization. Maintains efficient flow of processing procedures, through appropriate case set-up, anticipation of health care provider requests and patient care needs.

Performs tasks to decontaminate, prepare and package medical - surgical supplies. Unloads, sorts and picks up linen from semi-trailer and delivers to departments. Completes sterilization procedures, monitors processed storage and distribution of medical - surgical supplies to various areas.

Education

Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Sterile processing training

Related Experience

Minimum: Graduate of a sterile processing program

One year of general work experience

Agreement to get certification in sterile processing within 1 year of hire

Preferred: Certification in Central Sterile Processing

Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum: Basic computer skills

Preferred: Familiar with Microsoft office programs

80hrs per pp- 3p-1130p variable. on call

weekends and Holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA
