Advises students in academic matters.\nJob Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)\n Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline required (e.g., BSN). Master's degree in appropriate discipline preferred. \n License / Certification: Must hold a current active unrestricted licensure in the State of Ohio, as applicable. \n(For nursing faculty) CPR certification required with RN licensure, if applicable. \nExperience:\nA minimum of at least two years in the related field. \nTeaching experience in collegiate or university setting preferred. \nExperience in curriculum development preferred. \nEffective Communication Skills \nActive in professional and community organizations. \nEssential Responsibilities\nExhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service. \nMeets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements. \nPromotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients. \nRelationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system. \n (For patient care providers) Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. \n(For nursing faculty) Functions in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing OAC 4723-5-19 Responsibilities of Faculty Teaching a Nursing Course and OAC 4723-5-20 Responsibilities of Faculty and Instructional Personnel in a Clinical Setting or other state regulations as amended. \nAssumes responsibility and accountability for institutional diversity and cultural competence. \nResponsible for the development, assessment, and revision of program curriculum in collaboration with other faculty and academic leadership. \nSupervises, evaluates, and advises students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences. \nFacilitates a learning and caring environment which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual student \nMaintains communication and oversees the activities of Clinical Instructors/Preceptors regarding course curriculum and student evaluations, if applicable. \nParticipates in professional activities, programs and professional organizations. \nParticipates in scholarly activities, either individually or collaboratively. \nMaintains records according to college policies and processes ensuring adherence to FERPA and confidentiality standards \nParticipates in peer review \nParticipates in College and Faculty Assembly according to full-time/part-time employment status. \nAttends required College functions. \nMentors new faculty. \nOur Commitment\nRooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
