In addition, he/she will perform mammographic imaging and assume QA/QC responsibilities. He/she must be self-motivated, use independent judgement and be able to work with minimum supervision. He/she must be uniquely empathetic to high stress situations.\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nAssociate degree in Allied Health.\nCompletion of CAHEA approved school of Radiologic Technology.\nLicensure / Certification:\nRegistered Mammography Technologist by ARRT or registry-eligible and must achieve Mammography-certification within six months of hire\nCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.\nMaintain Continuing Education credits (24 CEC in two year period) and other ARRT requirements.\nMaintain 15 Continuing Education credits (CEC) in Mammography within a 3-year period.\nDuties / Responsibilities:\nPerforms routine breast imaging with optimum diagnostic quality and consideration for patient tolerance and comfort.\nHe/she will be expected to maintain compliance with existing policies and procedures unique to Trinity Health Breast Imaging Center, including but not limited to needle localizations, specimen imaging, patient call backs, and core biopsies.\nDemonstrates competence in advance breast imaging technique, including but not limited to spot compression, magnification procedures, lesion and calcification localization, breast implant procedures, and breast specimen imaging.\nPerforms and documents accreditation testing requirements of such agencies as ACR, State of Michigan, and Mammography Quality Standards Act.\nReports problems identified through QA/QC testing to coordinator or supervisor and documents all corrective actions taken.\nParticipates in department meetings, orientation training, in-service programs and quality assurance programs.
