The Patient Service Representative will work in partnership with our physicians and clinical staff to take care of patients’ administrative needs. You will be responsible forchecking in patients for appointments, collecting patient co-pays, answering telephones, taking accuratemessages, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance eligibility. You will also need to be comfortable using our electronic medical record (EPIC) to update required information.\nOur ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, a quick learnerand has a passion for providing a high-quality customer service experience to our patients. He or she will also need to utilizeexcellent communication skills while communicating with patients and families. The ability to provide superior customer service while utilizingindependent decision-making skills will be essential in this position.\nPOSITION DETAILS: The Float Pool is a wonderful way to learn about many different medical specialties, broaden your experience, and is a great fit for those who are flexible, adaptable, and have a desire to grow!\nThis Full-Time position will support clinic coverage for all of the SAMG Medical Clinics in the Treasure Valley. The hours for this position will typically be from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM - locations will vary. Weekend availability is required.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.\n\nPreviouscustomer service experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus. Medical terminology preferred.\n\nExperience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nKnows, understands, incorporates, and demonstratesthe Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions\n\nProtects patients’ rights by maintainingconfidentiality of personal and financial information and follows guidelines for HIPPA regulations\n\nMaintains operations by following policies and procedures and reports needed changes\n\nADDITIONAL DUTIES:\nAcknowledges and greets patients immediately, providing a positive customer service experience\n\nRegisters patients for appointments and completes paperwork\n\nVerifies and updates existing patient and insurance information\n\nKeeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival\n\nInforms patients immediatelyof delays, explains why, and the anticipatedwait time\n\nCollect, record, and communicate to patients their responsible balances for visit, diagnostic testing, supplies, etc.\n\nMaintain knowledge of different payer practices and deductibles\n\nAssistpatients with all aspects of Financial Assistance Paperwork\n\nControl credit extended to patients via a payment plan\n\nMaintain business office inventory and equipment and order supplies\n\nMaintain a neat work area including the reception area\n\nFollow Cash Control Policy and Procedure and balancesdaily financial activities.
