Works under the supervision and tutelage of registered pharmacists in accordance with the laws, rules, and regulations of the State of Idaho.\nHOURS / SHIFTS: The Pharmacist Intern could work one of the following:\nOne 10-hour weekend shift a week, or\n\nOne 10-hour weekend shift every two weeks, or\n\nTwo 10-hour weekend shifts every two weeks\n\nWith opportunities to increase hours during summers and breaks, at the Intern's discretion.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nMust be registered as an Extern / Intern by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO:\nKnows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.\n\nThe internship will allow the Pharmacist student to gain a better understanding of inpatient hospital pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical care.\n\nCollaborate and develop relationships with practicing Pharmacists who will provide support and mentorship.\n\nPrepares and dispenses medication orders per physicians’ request under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.\n\nAssists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns.\n\nEnsures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Assists the pharmacist with ensuring safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.\n\nContributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
