Collaborates with Perioperative Services and all other customers of the Central Processing Department.\nEssential Functions:\nDirects day to day activities of Central Processing Department and coordinates activities with the Operating Room and clinics.\n\nReport daily activities to direct manager each day.\n\nPerforms staff level sterilization duties\n\nFunctions as a liaison to ensure prescribed decontamination and sterilization practices are performed in compliance with industry standards and practices\n\nManages and controls all Central Processing supplies, instruments and equipment to ensure availability, inventory control, appropriate asset management and expense control\n\nEnsures proper operation of all decontamination and sterilization equipment\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned or required\n\nEducation, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:\n5 years’ experience in sterile processing\n\nCRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Svc Material Mgt); OR\n\nCSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) from CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution) is required.\n\nKnowledge of Central Sterilization Reprocessing\n\nKnowledge of standards and recommended guidelines of Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and American Society of Healthcare Central Service Professionals (ASHCSP)\n\nSkills\nMaintains current knowledge of advances and current trends in Surgical/GI/Endo procedures and techniques\n\nDemonstrates attention to detail by ensuring that all documentation is legible, complete, accurate, and factual\n\nKnowledge of current practice related to hand hygiene, aseptic and sterile technique\n\nKnowledge of current practice of decontamination, high level disinfection and sterilization procedures\n\nKnowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives\n\nMission Statement:\nWe, St Joseph's Health and Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.\n\nVision:\nTo be world-renowned for passionate patient care and outstanding clinical outcomes.\n\nCore Values:\nIn the spirit of good Stewardship, we heal by practicing Justice in fostering right relationships to promote common good, Reverence in honoring the dignity of every person, Excellence in expecting the best of ourselves and others; Integrity in being faithful to who we say we are.\n\nWork Environment and Hazards:\nClinical setting. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.\n\nWork Contact Group:\nAll services, medical staff, patients, visitors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.\n\nPay Range: $28.55 - $39.35\nPay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
