Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech!
As a Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech you will performs clerical and receptionist duties andobservesthe cardiac monitors within a specific nursing unit. Transcribes physician orders and performs computer activities. Consistent with the Mission ofMercyOne, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.
Schedule:
Full time, 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)
6:00pm - 6:30am
Every third weekend and holiday rotation
General Requirements:
Clerical skills and ability to effectivelyutilizewritten and oral communications.
Demonstrateabilityto understand and follow directions.
Demonstrates ability to interpret cardiac rhythm andoperatemonitor equipment.
Record and report information such as vital signs, intake and output, weight, and any behavioral changes toappropriate supervisorypersonnel.
Maintain, assemble, and organize equipment needed for asafesecure environment.
Performadditionalduties as requested such as transporting patients and obtaining medications, supplies, and medical records from other departments.
Demonstrate a caring practice by respecting the rights of an individual or group.
Demonstrateabilitytoimpactchange within your department and with other departments.
Demonstrate skills as an effective team member.
Respect the confidentiality of an individual or group, unlessobligatedto disclose under proper authorization or legal compulsion.
Maintain a safe environment of care.
Communicate care effectively: both verbally and written.
Education:
Must be 17 years of age. May berequiredto be 18 years of agein some areas.
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. All Certified Nursing Assistants are encouraged tobelong tothe National Nursing Aide Registry. In certainareas, participation in the registry is required.
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training isrequiredwithin 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will berequiredwithin30 daysof hire and every year thereafter.
