It provides Victoria’s 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for Police, Fire, Ambulance and VICSES.\nThis integration of emergency services communications within Triple Zero Victoria is unique in Australia and rare worldwide. The team at Triple Zero Victoria are deeply committed to the community they serve and are among the most dedicated and highly skilled in their field.\nAbout the Role\nThe Senior System Engineer is a key technical subject matter expert within the Emergency Communications Information Services (ECIS) Infrastructure team, responsible for maintaining and improving ICT infrastructure supporting TZV’s 24/7 mission-critical emergency communications services.\nWorking across on-premises Data Centre and hybrid-cloud environments, you will provide hands-on technical leadership in infrastructure operations, solution design and implementation, and the resolution of complex technical incidents. You will also lead technical improvements, mentor engineers and help ensure our infrastructure platforms remain secure, resilient and highly available.\nDay to day responsibilities include:\nManage, monitor and maintain secure, highly available ICT infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving performance, availability and security risks.\nSupport the design, build and implementation of infrastructure solutions across hybrid-cloud and Data Centre environments, working with architects and technical teams and providing expertise in capacity planning and scalability.\nDevelop and implement asset lifecycle and maintenance plans that keep infrastructure performing, secure and supportable.\nLead the analysis and troubleshooting of complex technical issues, recommending solutions that improve system reliability and performance.\nProvide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.\nMaintain technical documentation and operational processes to support effective service delivery and knowledge transfer.\nAbout You\nThe successful candidate will have strong technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering reliable infrastructure in demanding operational environments.\nEssential:\nA relevant tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline and a current Microsoft certification (e.g. Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert or Azure Administrator Associate), or equivalent relevant experience.\nAt least five years’ hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, including supporting 24/7 ICT environments within a large organisation.\nDemonstrated experience across Microsoft 365 and Microsoft infrastructure, VMware virtualisation, enterprise storage, server infrastructure, backup and recovery, and Citrix environments.\nExperience with infrastructure monitoring, security tooling, automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell).\nDemonstrated experience in change management, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and mentor technical team members.\nDesirable:\nVMware Certified Professional (VCP), Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.\nITIL certification or experience working within an ITIL environment.\nExperience working within security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, ACSC Essential Eight).\nExperience with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code.\nWhat We Can Offer You\nYou will be supporting a critical service to the Victorian community and will be rewarded with a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements and employee benefits including:\nEmployee assistance program for employees and eligible family members\nDiscounted health insurance, banking services and gym membership\n‘Memberlink’ discount card, accepted by 1,000's of retailers and services providers\nFree staff parking at all our sites\nSalary packaging options after an initial service period\nTriple Zero Victoria is committed to the principles of equal opportunity, and diversity and inclusion for all.
