This role is a blend of underwriting and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting risks while also actively promoting our products, strengthening broker relationships, and driving growth in the Professional Solutions portfolio. \n\nAccountabilities include:\nAssess, price, and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.\nAnalyze financial, legal, and operational information to evaluate risk profiles.\nStructure tailored coverage solutions that meet client and broker needs.\nEnsure underwriting practices comply with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners and other stakeholders.\nPromote our products through meetings, presentations, and industry events.\nIdentify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market presence.\nRepresent the company as a subject matter expert within the marketplace.\nProvide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters and team members.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams.\nLearn new product lines and coverages as they are developed.\nMaintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered\n\nQualifications:\n2+ years’ experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O/Cyber/Technology preferred).\nBachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in communication, business, or insurance preferred.\nStrong broker and market relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.\nExperience in business development and marketing within the insurance industry.\n\nLocation: \nDowntown Toronto – Hybrid\n\nSalary: \nThe expected salary in this position is within the range of $70,000 - $90,000\n\nThis salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities.
