Fueling innovation and improving lives, we are committed to accelerating discovery and shaping a better world.\nTRIUMF's Procurement department is looking to hire an Assistant Procurement Specialist to join their team.\nThe position is part of the Procurement team and is primarily responsible for processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, keep track of purchase orders, reviewing purchase requirement and documentations are correct, and performing procurement related administrative tasks of both routine and non-routine natures.\nPRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProcess requisitions and issue purchase orders, make return requests with suppliers, maintains an up-to-date supplier database, participate in supplier onboarding as necessary, and prepare reports as requested.\nKeep track of purchase orders, handle inquiries about the orders and manage the lifecycle of the Purchase Orders\nRespond to questions from the custom brokers and vendors\nCommunicate with vendors representatives to establish best pricing\nReviews and processes change orders\nProvide customer service to internal and external stakeholders including team members in Finance and Supply Chain\nFollow the Supply Chain Policy and Procedures\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)\nGood numerical reasoning and aptitude for figures; accuracy; attention to detail\nAbility to multitask and handle multiple priorities.\nThorough knowledge of the principles and practices of centralized purchasing, the national standards of purchasing methods, and familiarity of the full supply chain process\nSolid understanding of common procurement practices such as supplier quotes, payment terms, shipment methods.\nExcellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills\nERP Experience such as Workday preferred\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, and at least one year of experience in the procurement environment post-graduation\nA designation such as SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) by Supply Chain Canada, CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) through the APICS/ASCM or equivalent, working towards certification.\nThis is a temporary appointment for 9 months, which could be extended longer.\nAll qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be given serious consideration, and in the case of equal qualifications, preference will be given to a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
