Fueling innovation and improving lives, we are committed to accelerating discovery and shaping a better world.\nThe ATG Electronics Technologist is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of control systems and electronics devices used on ATG cyclotrons and related equipment. The role requires a highly independent technologist with strong hands-on experience in electronics, instrumentation, automation, and industrial control systems.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nControl Systems & AutomationDesign, upgrade, install, commission, and maintain control systems.\nIntegrate controls hardware (PLCs) with:HMI /operator consoles\nSensors and transducers\nNetworks and workstations\nContactors, switches, and other field devices\n\nMaintenance & TroubleshootingRepair and maintain controls and electronic equipment.\nDiagnose failures and system issues.\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance.\nMaintain operational spare equipment inventory.\nSupport maintenance of cyclotrons and associated subsystems.\n\nEngineering & DocumentationCreate electrical schematics and technical documentation.\nDevelop test plans and test fixtures.\nRecord equipment test results and maintenance history.\nManage configuration changes in accordance with ATG/TRIUMF procedures.\n\nProject Management & CollaborationWork independently with minimal supervision.\nMentor junior technicians when required.\nLiaise with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.\nDemonstrate leadership within multidisciplinary teams.\nLead controls or electronics aspects of major projects or tasks\nCoordinate with mechanical, software, and data systems teams.\nProvide technical recommendations and guidance\n\nSUPERVISION EXERCISED:\nWhile there are no supervisory responsibilities associated with the position, the incumbent, if required, may provide technical oversight to junior technicians or other staff assigned to the electronics maintenance tasks. He / She must be able to demonstrate to users the function and correct usage of electronics equipment and correct mistakes when necessary.\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:\nPractical experience and knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, controls and electrical systems\nPLC programming and HMI development experience, or a strong desire and aptitude to learn these skills\nPractical experience with Allen Bradley controllers, Rockwell Automation interface, and Altium designer will be considered a definite asset\nElectronics servicing skills such as soldering, reading and creating electrical schematic diagrams\nExperience in analog and digital electronics\nTroubleshooting and practical hands-on experience with electronic and electro-mechanical devices and equipment\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities\nBasic computer and Microsoft Office skills to prepare documentation, such as equipment operating procedures, test methodology and assembly techniques\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to consult on different aspects of electronics and controls devices with vendors and ATG employees\nAbility to work with minimal supervision\nAn effective team player capable of developing strong working relationships\nThe incumbent will be required to complete the TRIUMF in-house radiation safety training course and be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:\nElectronics Engineering Technology Diploma, preferably in Computer Controls, Automation, or Robotics\n7+ years of relevant hands-on experience after diploma\nApplicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).\nSalary: $82,535.00 CAD plus our comprehensive employer-paid benefits plan\nPosition type:\nPermanentHours per week:\n37.5Total Rewards\nAt TRIUMF, we value our employees and are committed to providing a competitive total rewards package.
