With approximately 700 employees across three locations: West Hartford, CT; Windsor, CT; and Forest, OH, we design and manufacture advanced Thermal, Hydraulics & Actuation, Electronics, and Hydromechanical solutions that power some of the world’s most demanding aerospace applications.\nPosition Summary\nThe Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions across two manufacturing facilities in West Hartford and Windsor, CT. This role will lead a team of plant accounting staff, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and serve as a key financial business partner to plant and operations leadership at both sites. The Controller will play a critical role in driving cost management, process standardization, and financial discipline across both facilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nOversee all accounting operations for both manufacturing facilities, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll-related accounting\nLead the month-end and year-end close process for both plants, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financial statements\nDirect the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including P&L analysis, balance sheet reviews, and variance analysis by facility\nManage standard costing, labor/material/overhead variance analysis, and inventory valuation across both sites\nEnsure consistent application of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across both facilities\nPartner with plant managers and operations leadership at each site to provide financial guidance, cost analysis, and support for operational decision-making\nOversee physical inventory counts, cycle counting programs, and inventory reconciliation at both plants\nManage capital expenditure tracking, fixed asset accounting, and ROI analysis for plant investments\nServe as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and bank/lender relationships related to the two facilities\nIdentify opportunities to standardize processes, systems, and reporting across the two sites to improve efficiency and consistency\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, corporate policy, and applicable state and local regulatory requirements\nSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff at both locations, including plant accountants and accounting clerks\nSupport system implementations or upgrades (ERP, cost systems, etc.) impacting either facility\nTravel regularly between the two CT facilities to maintain visibility and support both teams\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred\n8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a manufacturing environment\nPrior experience managing accounting functions across multiple locations or facilities\nStrong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing financial processes\nSupervisory/people management experience\nProficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Epicor, or similar)\nAdvanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capability\nDeep understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks\nStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across sites and functions\nPreferred:\nCMA or MBA\nExperience in a multi-site or decentralized manufacturing organization\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives\nExperience leading or supporting ERP implementations\nWork Enviroment\nWork Environment\nBased primarily at West Hartford, CT facility, with regular travel (approximately 25-40%) to the second site\nOffice-based with periodic time on the production floor for inventory counts and operational reviews\nFast-paced, hands-on environment requiring strong cross-site coordination\nPhysical Requirements\nPhysical Requirements:\nThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
