You will be responsible for all operations work, out of the Glen Burnie, MD location and will focus on recruitment and management of incoming Environmental Specialists.\nThis role provides direct support to Senior Management in fulfilling the mission statement as well as direct support, mentoring and coaching of individual Environmental Specialists. A significant portion of time is dedicated to evaluating the performance, compliance, and safety aspects of the services we provide to our clients. Our unique culture fosters growth, development, education, and creativity.\nThis position reports to the Assistant General Manager. \nEssential responsibilities:\nEmployee Management \nUsing the Environmental Specialist Advancement Program, work with your direct reports on their professional development and assist them in meeting, and exceeding, the competencies at each level of the program. Promote your direct reports through the program and transition to their next direct supervisor within the agreed upon timeline.\nAssist in the evaluation of Environmental Specialist’s advancement and provide follow-up field training where weaknesses have been identified. This could include administering verbal or written warnings when managed personnel fail to comply with job functions/requirements.\nParticipate in Triumvirate’s COMPASS manager training, allowing you to develop the skill sets necessary to be a highly functioning and successful manager.\nDirectly supervise a select number of Environmental Specialists and Material Handlers within Lab and Onsite Support Services.\nDevelop goals with your staff, help track and motivate them to complete these goals within monthly Manager 1-1s. \nIdentify individual strengths of direct reports and set them up with the tools to succeed in environments conducive to their growth and efforts.\nDevelop and present trainings to Environmental Specialist and Material Handlers.\nPresenter for Yearlong onboarding cohorts.\nProvide technical, procedural, safety and cultural guidance resource for direct reports (Onsite Support and Lab Services).\nRun the biweekly ES meetings.\nAid in orientation of new hires and the resource ordering (laptops, ipads, uniforms etc).\nRun the ROPE program.\nWork with Account Managers on job scopes, startups, or pre-huddle job meetings.\nAttend Monthly Account Meetings and drive client specific deliverables or supply ordering.\nIdentify how employees interact with specific clients to predict success when positions open elsewhere.\nBe experienced in managing large teams of individuals at various stages of the Environmental Specialist Advancement Program. \nCommunicate and collaborate with the niche staff to anticipate staffing needs and work with niche operations managers to find the best fit.\nWork with your direct reports to develop and implement their customer service skills at their client’s site(s), ensuring delivery of the highest quality customer service.\nDevelop your knowledge of Triumvirate’s client niches, allowing you to more effectively manage your team as they work within multiple niches. Be a service level resource for clients and Account Managers.\nUnderstand Federal and State level regulations to ensure program quality and compliance on Lab Service Jobs and Onsite Support Accounts.\nDrive the WOW by supporting your staff and helping them to receive WOWs from employees and clientele.\nSafety and Quality Control\nDrive quality and employee engagement through site visit program, including staff site visits, tracking of all visits and participating in site visit program.\nCreate a culture of safety by driving the STOP audit program, collaborating with the ETSC team and attending all safety meetings.\nProvide support and leadership to the operational schedule to help lead our teams and provide onsite training, mentoring, and guidance to our field teams.\nRecruitment \nWork with other Environmental Specialist Managers to oversee all hiring of Environmental Specialist openings in Mid Atlantic- North. Collaborate on improvements to the hiring program and work together to implement across New England (and beyond).\nTrain to the Environmental Specialist hiring process, master it and begin to oversee the program from start to hire. This includes learning the applicant tracking system, phone screening, in-person interviewing and offer decision making.\nWork with other Operations Managers to lead monthly ES Orientation trainings for new team members.\nAttend job fair events for college recruitment or internships.\nBasic Requirements:\nBS in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other related majors, or equivalent required\n2+ years of experience in the hazardous waste field\nPrior knowledge, experience, and compliance with DOT, RCRA, and other applicable regulations\nMust be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship \nMust have a reliable form of transportation \nMust be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC) \nUpon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment \nMust be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis \nMust be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday) \nMust be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts \nThe Operations Manager frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment.
