This is a unique role that will give you exposure to RCRA and DOT compliance, waste treatment and processing, technical services, transportation, waste disposal coordination, ten-day transfer of hazardous waste and universal waste management. Our unique culture fosters growth, development, education, and creativity. \nThis position reports to the Plant Manager.\n Responsibilities: \nWaste processing and/or treatment in accordance with established procedures \nContainer handling (palletizing; ringing, stacking and labeling). \nLearn and retain a basic knowledge of daily work practices \nDaily processing activities may include working with the followingHazardous /non-hazardous organic and aqueous matrices \nHazardous and non-hazardous solids/sludge \nDecommissioning or repacking of hazardous and non-hazardous lab packs \nMercury and other elemental heavy metals and asbestos. \nVarious chemical reagents (organic, aqueous, oxidizers, acids, bases, etc.) \nIndustrial processing type equipment \n\nWaste and document preparation; regulatory and safety review \nLoad & unload incoming & outgoing trucks \nWaste inventory management using Triumvirate designed software and computerized waste tracking system \nBecome familiar with packaging guidelines and disposal facility selection \nDevelop an understanding of OSHA regulations, Triumvirate’s Health and Safety Practices, Triumvirate’s Part B RCRA permit, and EPA regulations\nCommunicate effectively with end facilities as well as fellow employees to solve complex issues \nWOW! internal and external customers! \nBecome forklift trained and be able to safely operate machinery \nRecommend management action to improve standard operating procedures. \nInitiation of non-conformance, incident and near miss reporting. \nIdentify and requisition processing supplies and reagents. \nOther duties as assigned \nBasic Requirements: \nHigh School Degree or equivalent \nBasic knowledge of or desire to learn hazardous waste industry \nMust be able to come on site between 5:30 am EST to 3:00 pm PST \nMust be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship \nMust have a reliable form of transportation \nMust be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC) \nUpon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment \nMust be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis \nAbility to work overtime on a regular basis \nMust be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday) \nThe Facility Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment.
