During winter, the Snowmaking Team Leader supervises the snowmaking crew, assists the Slopes Head of Department in coordinating snow production, and conducts repairs and maintenance of snowmaking equipment and systems. During summer, the focus shifts to preventative maintenance, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and preparing the snowmaking network for the upcoming winter season.\n\nThe successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the snowmaking system remains safe, reliable, and operational at all times.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nWinter Operations\nLead, supervise, and support the Snowmaking team to achieve snow production objectives.\nCoordinate daily snowmaking operations and resource allocation.\nMonitor weather conditions and production targets to maximise snowmaking efficiency.\nOperate, troubleshoot, and maintain snowmaking equipment and infrastructure.\nRespond to equipment breakdowns and undertake repairs in a timely manner.\nEnsure safe work practices and compliance with company policies and procedures.\nTrain, mentor, and develop snowmaking staff.\nMaintain accurate operational and maintenance records.\nSummer Operations\nPerform scheduled preventative maintenance on all snowmaking assets.\nInspect, service, and overhaul snow guns, hydrants, valves, compressors, pumps, and associated infrastructure.\nAssist with capital projects, system upgrades, and installations.\nIdentify and rectify faults within mechanical, electrical, and control systems.\nSupport testing and commissioning activities prior to the winter season.\nMaintain workshop standards, tools, and spare parts inventory.\nSkills and Experience\n\nEssential\nStrong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.\nSound electrical knowledge, particularly low-voltage control systems (24V systems).\nExperience maintaining and repairing industrial or mechanical equipment.\nDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.\nAbility to work independently and make sound operational decisions.\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills.\nAbility to work outdoors in challenging alpine environments and varying weather conditions.\nCurrent driver's licence.\nHighly Desirable\nElectrical Registration, Electrical Service Technician qualification, or equivalent trade qualification.\nPrevious experience in snowmaking operations.\nKnowledge and experience with:\nATASSpro snowmaking control systems\nTechnoAlpin snow guns\nHKD snow guns \nUnderstanding of water distribution, pumping systems, and compressed air systems.\nFirst Aid certification and/or alpine industry experience.\nPersonal Attributes\nStrong leadership and team-building skills.\nSafety-focused with a proactive approach to risk management.\nReliable, adaptable, and highly motivated.\nAble to remain calm and effective under pressure.\nPassion for mountain environments and the ski industry.\nCommitted to maintaining high operational
