As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.\nPosition Overview\nThe Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The Assistant GM will help direct and administer all aspects of the operation and coordinates/administers the property’s policies and procedures as defined by the property’s ownership and/or Troon.\nCompensation: $50k BOE\nQualifications: Must Have\n1-3 years’ experience in the golf industry.\n\nPGA Membership or PGA registered apprentice in good standing.\n\nMust have experience in total golf facility management and demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation.\n\nExperience and Skill Requirements:\nFour-year college degree (preferably business related).\n\nMust have supervisory, coaching and staff development experience.\n\nMust be proficient in Excel, Access, Word, POS systems.\n\nWorking knowledge of club accounting.\n\nMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business.\n\nExperience assisting with building player development programs.\n\nExperience acting as a club liaison to the community.\n\nMust have exceptional customer service skills.\n\nMust be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter.\n\nMust be extremely organized, efficient and detail oriented.\n\nMust possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.\n\nHighly polished interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people easily and quickly.\n\nMust have skill to exercise good independent judgment in assessing situations and making decisions.\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\nManages the office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both.\n\nManages all aspects of the club in the absence of the general manager.\n\nAssists in hiring, developing and supervising all key management employees of the property.\n\nProcess customer reservations for guests of the golf course.\n\nProduce daily reports related to rounds, sales, etc. for management.\n\nAssist in coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play as directed by the 1st Assistant Golf Professional and/or Head Golf Professional.\n\nWorks closely with Marshall and Starter to monitor all aspects of play including starting, monitoring pace of play, safety on the course and golf course markings.\n\nProvides customer service to arriving guest to help expedite check-in process.\n\nAssists in reconciliation of cash and accounts receivable charges to daily register at the closing of the day.\n\nAssists in overseeing the care and maintenance of the property’s physical assets and facilities.\n\nProvides assistance in management of Pro-Shop.\n\nMaintaining positive and productive relationships between the golf facility and its board of directors, golfers, guests, employees, community, government and industry.\n\nAssist with sourcing, hiring, developing, training and motivating a staff of professional service-orientated staff at the discretion of the General Manager.\n\nAssists GM in managing staff by conducting staff meetings.\n\nEnsuring standards by implementing course policies and procedures.\n\nPerform other duties assigned by manger or supervisor.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nRegularly stands, walks and sits.\nOccasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells.\nRegularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.\nOccasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.\nEnvironment/Noise:\nOccasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.\nNoise level is moderate.\nCertificates/Licenses:\nCMAA member, GCSSA or PGA/LPGA membership preferred\nJob Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:\nAbility to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).\nKnowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.\nBenefits & Other Compensation:\nThis position includes eligibility for the following benefits, subject to applicable plan terms:\nHealthcare Benefits - Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.\n\nRetirement Benefits - 401(k) with employer match (19 years of age and older).\n\nTime Off - Paid time off (PTO) and leaves of absence, in accordance with applicable law and eligibility criteria.\n\nEligibility for benefits and the specific terms, conditions, and offerings are governed by the applicable plan of documents and company policies, which may be amended at the Company’s discretion.\nThis job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an associate in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.\nAbout Troon:\nFounded in 1990 and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, Troon is the world’s largest professional club management company, that specializes in services in golf, hospitality, and residential communities.
