Our locations include Arlington Cemetery, Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Fairview Memorial Park,Lincoln Memorial Park, Mount Hope Cemetery, Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Parkholm Cemetery and River Hills Memorial Park.\nMaintains the overall appearance of cemetery that includes maintenance and grounds keeping, locating grave sites, installing crypt faces and headstones, conducting interments, entombments and inurnments, and repairs and maintenance tasks.\nTHIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND FAVORABLE DRIVING RECORD AND RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nClears debris and maintains drives and walkways; cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees, walkways, and memorial markers, placing and removal of grave decorations, and snow removal.\nAssist in opening and closing of graves, setting up graveside and burial service equipment, assist in performing interments, entombments, and inurnments.\nErects tents, canopies, and arranges chairs for graveside ceremony.\nPrepares crypts for entombments.\nUnder supervision, may operate backhoe to dig graves without damage to surrounding vaults, markers, or monuments.\nUnder supervision, may operate casket lift for entombments.\nInstalls headstones, bronze memorials, monument foundations, crypt faces, etc.\nMaintains and repairs existing markers and other cemetery features.\nMaintains, services, cleans, and properly stores equipment.\nCleans and maintains facility to include performing minor repairs, painting, etc.\nObserve safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nHigh school education or equivalent or relevant work experience.\nMinimum one year of relevant experience operating small, motorized equipment (i.e. weed eaters, chain saws, edger, leaf blowers, pumps, etc.).\nValid and current driver’s license; safe driving record.\nSelf-motivated, high energy and a customer-focused perspective.\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment.\nMust be able to communicate and understand basic English.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES:\nAbility to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including, but not limited to a shovel, pick, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower\nAbility to accurately use measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, yardstick, etc.)\nAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time\nAbility to lift top 60 lbs.\nAbility to lift to 150 with equipment assistance\nAbility to push and pull up to 300 lbs.\nAbility to communicate effectively.\nAbility to work in extreme weather conditions\nAbility to multi-task.\nBenefits include PTO, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance and 401k.\nWe use technology to support administrative and operational efficiency.
