Reporting directly to the Senior IT Manager, you will ensure Tropic’s technological environment remains secure, efficient, and reliable.\nResponsibilities include system administration, user support, vendor management and driving improvements in IT operations. Providing second-line IT support, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective technological solutions.\nResponsibilities\nDatabases\nCoordinate communications between internal stakeholders and external developers to ensure effective management of LIMS development.\nCarry out the administration of our Power Platform & Microsoft 365.\nSupport troubleshooting and testing development of our systems.\nSystems / Infrastructure\nSupport with the management of external IT / data security service providers to ensure that our systems are as secure as possible.\nSupport with business-critical IT tasks and systems.\nMaintain internal IT hardware requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones and software / security updates.\nWork with external support providers to maintain internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, etc. and ensure server administration tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.\nProvide second-line IT support, taking on more complex issues passed on by first-line support.\nTroubleshoot and resolve more complex IT issues, escalating to designated third-party service providers where needed.\nImplement processes, procedures, and systems to bring improvements to the workplace.\nSupport web developers and other service providers to ensure our web domains are secure, maintained effectively and provide up-to-date information about Tropic.\nMiscellaneous\nTo carry out other duties appropriate to the nature and grade of the post, as directed by the line manager.\nRequirements\nEssential\nProven experience supporting, maintaining and configuring a wide range of devices.\nStrong, hands-on experience as a Microsoft 365 administrator, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (users, groups, licensing, conditional access), SharePoint, Teams and Intune.\nExperience with Microsoft Power Platform & Power BI.\nGood experience in second-line IT support.\nDesirable\nExperience with LANs, WANs & Internet Technologies.\nExperience with Asset Management.\nGood level of scripting/coding knowledge of Power Fx, Python, JavaScript or C++.\nExposure to process mapping and Microsoft 365 database architecture (e.g. Dataverse).\nHighly organised with good communication and negotiation skills.\nGood understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration.\nSome understanding of non-Windows operating systems e.g. Linux / iOS.\nSome knowledge of the bioscience community.\nAbout Us\nTropic is one of the world’s leading agricultural gene-editing companies.
