Role Overview

A Billing & Estimation Engineer in a high-rise building project is responsible for managing the project’s financial and quantity aspects by accurately estimating costs, preparing BOQs, and tracking expenses while ensuring all work executed on site is properly measured, verified, and billed. The role involves preparing and checking contractor bills, monitoring project costs against budgets, handling variations, and supporting tendering and procurement processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of RA (Running Account) bills for contractors and subcontractors
• Verification and certification of client bills as per BOQ and contract terms
• Measurement and recording of work executed at site (as per drawings and site conditions)
• Coordination with site engineers for daily/weekly quantity tracking
• Checking contractor bills against actual work and contract rates

• Preparation of detailed quantity take-offs from drawings (structural, architectural, MEP)
• Rate analysis for various construction activities
• Preparation of BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates
• Review of tender documents and participation in tender costing
• Cost comparison and vendor quotation analysis

• Understanding of contract clauses, payment terms, and escalation clauses
• Preparation and monitoring of variation statements / change orders
• Maintaining records of bills, measurements, and supporting documents
• Assisting in final project cost reconciliation

• Monitoring project cost vs budget
• Identifying cost overruns and suggesting control measures
• Preparing cost reports and MIS reports
• Supporting project planning team for budget tracking

• Coordination with site, planning, procurement, and accounts team
• Reporting progress and billing status to senior management
• Ensuring timely submission and approval of bills

Required Skills and qualifications:

• B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering (acceptable with strong experience)
• Residential towers / commercial high-rise projects
• Exposure to large contractors or real estate developers
