True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build the technology that secures it.\nOUR MISSION\nTrue Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors - enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.\nOUR VALUES\nBe the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.\nWhat would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.\n It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.\nYOUR MISSION\nWe are seeking an experienced Compliance Engineer to lead the design and implementation of secure, compliant architectures within highly regulated cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in STIG development and vulnerability remediation, alongside a strong foundation in DevOps and SecOps practices, particularly within the AWS and Azure Government platform. \nThe ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience in security engineering, with a track record of communicating and marketing compliance work to the people who have to live with it. You will work cross-functionally to align cloud infrastructure and training with frameworks such as RMF (DoD IL5 and IL6), and CMMC. This is a hands-on technical role that treats GRC as a product: you will build the controls, then package, promote, and prove them across the Enterprise through training, video, live demonstration, and customer-facing evidence. \nRESPONSIBILITIES\nSecurity & Compliance Engineering \nImplement, and maintain secure, audit-ready systems and services in AWS and Azure Government environments. \nDevelop and maintain custom STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, and IaaS/PaaS configurations and customer-deployed applications. \nTraining Integration \nEmbed compliance and security training across the enterprise through video and hands on training. \nAutomate Scoring and tracking of training requirements for readiness assessments and audits. \nPartner with cybersecurity operations teams to support incident response, log review, and system hardening efforts. \nVulnerability Management & Remediation \nAssist in the technical remediation of vulnerabilities identified through internal scans, third-party testing, or external audits. \nWork with engineering and DevOps teams to drive secure patch management, system baseline enforcement, and automated vulnerability response workflows. \nMaintain and operationalize vulnerability metrics dashboards aligned with continuous monitoring plans (ConMon). \nAudit Readiness & Documentation \nAble to support and manage detailed system documentation including SSPs, network diagrams, control implementations, and POA&Ms. \nServe as a technical point of contact during audits and assessments, capable of demonstrating compliance posture through hands-on walkthroughs and evidence collection. \nCollaborate with DevOps, Cybersecurity teams to translate security requirements into enforceable technical controls and testable artifacts. \nCross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership \nPartner with product, engineering, and compliance teams to implement secure system boundaries and customer segmentation strategies for multi-tenant environments. \nProvide technical mentorship and occasional leadership to junior compliance engineers or project contributors. \nTrack emerging requirements and proactively update system configurations to meet evolving DoD IL5, IL6, and CMMC mandates. \nGRC Enablement & Marketing\nProductize the GRC function: package controls, training, and inherited compliance into clearly defined service offerings the Enterprise can understand, adopt, and buy into.\nBuild the messaging and positioning for GRC internally, translating IL5, IL6, and CMMC requirements into plain language that engineering, program, and business teams act on.\nDevelop customer-facing compliance collateral including trust and compliance one-pagers, control inheritance summaries, shared responsibility matrices, and briefing decks for program reviews.\nSupport capture and business development by responding to security questionnaires, RFP compliance sections, and customer due diligence requests with accurate, reusable content.\nRun internal campaigns that drive training completion, control adoption, and audit readiness, and report on adoption the way a product team reports on usage.\nProduce video, demo, and walkthrough content that markets the GRC program and shows the compliance posture in action rather than describing it on paper.\nEstablish a compliance brand and voice across the enterprise so GRC is seen as an enabler of speed and customer trust, not as a gate.\nDefine and track adoption metrics for GRC services, including training completion, control coverage, time to evidence, and customer questionnaire turnaround.\nMaintain an internal GRC knowledge base and self-service portal so teams can find controls, evidence, and guidance without opening a ticket.\nQUALIFICATIONS\n5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, cloud compliance, or DevSecOps roles. \nHands-on experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation planning, and automated patching workflows. \nFamiliarity with DoD RMF (IL5 and IL6), CMMC and related audit frameworks. \nProficiency with tools such as JIRA, Nessus, Docebo.\nExperience with Marketing methodologies to productize the GRC role.\nExperience building training programs and Videos. \nDemonstrated experience marketing or productizing a security, compliance, or GRC capability to internal or external stakeholders.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief both engineers and executives on compliance posture.\nExperience creating enablement content such as one-pagers, briefing decks, demo videos, and knowledge base articles.\nExperience supporting security questionnaires, RFP responses, or customer audits in a sales or capture context.\nPosition requires an active TS/SCI clearance.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\nExperience with DoD RMF (IL5 and IL6) cloud environments. \nWorking knowledge of security training and how it applies to the IL 5/6 environments and inheritability from the Enterprise. \nBasic people leadership experience, including mentoring or technical guidance responsibilities. \nIndustry certifications such as Security +\nCOMPENSATION\nBase Salary: Denver - $105,000 to $150,000, Long Beach - $115,000 to $160,000, Washington, DC - $115,000 to $160,000, SF Bay Area - $125,000 to $175,000\nEquity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave \nYour actual level and base salary will be determined
