In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, build, and test of precision motor-driven actuation systems for our orbital platforms. You will work across the full hardware development lifecycle - from concept and CAD design through analysis, fabrication support, integration, and test - and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment where your work directly impactsspaceflight hardware. \nRESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies for spacecraft actuation systems using CAD tools \nPerform mechanical analysis including stress, fatigue, tolerance stack-up, and kinematic analysis to validate designs \nSupport the selection and integration of motors, bearings, gears, and other drivetrain components into mechanism assemblies \nGenerate engineering drawings, BOMs, and fabrication documentation to support manufacturing and procurement \nSupport mechanism assembly, integration, and test activities including functional testing, environmental test campaigns, and troubleshooting \nCollaborate with motor control, avionics, and systems engineering teams to ensure mechanism designs meet system-level interface and performance requirements \nAssist with trade studies and design reviews, contributing analysis and design documentation \nDevelop and maintain design documentation including specifications, test plans, and analysis reports \nSupport continuous improvement of mechanisms engineering processes and practices \nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field \n2-4 years of professional experience in mechanical design and development \nProficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) \nExperience generating engineering drawings and fabrication documentation \nFamiliarity with mechanical analysis methods including stress, tolerance stack-up, and kinematic analysis \nDemonstrated ability to work hands-on with hardware through build, integration, and test activities \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\nExperience with precision mechanisms, actuators, or motor-driven assemblies \nFamiliarity with spacecraft environmental requirements including thermal, vacuum, vibration, and radiation \nKnowledge of materials selection and surface treatment for space applications \nExperience with FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar) \nFamiliarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis methods \nExperience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic setting \nCOMPENSATION\nBase Salary: $90,000 - $135,000\nEquity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave \nYour actual level and base salary will be determinedon a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS\nWork Location -Successful candidates will be located near Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA.
