Our team is our competitive advantage, and we are better together \nYOUR MISSION \nTrue Anomaly operates across Azure, AWS, their GovCloud variants, on-premises facilities, classified environments, and customer-deployed infrastructure. As Senior Manager of Infrastructure Engineering, you will own the compute platform that ties all of it together: Kubernetes, networking, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and the government-accredited environments that the company deploys into. Your team will grow initially to 6 then further as the company breaks out dedicated subteams for SRE, network engineering, developer productivity, and incident management. The infrastructure you build will serve every program in the company, directly displace subcontractor engagements that currently cost millions per program, and form the foundation of True Anomaly’s accredited compute platform. This role requires someone who can operate across the full breadth of infrastructure disciplines, make sound architectural calls in classified and unclassified environments, and build a team that scales with an aggressive growth trajectory. \nRESPONSIBILITIES \nBuild and lead the Infrastructure Engineering team: initially 3 Senior Engineers (Kubernetes/platform reliability, networking, CI/CD/cloud), growing into dedicated subteams as the organization scales \nOwn the compute platform strategy across commercial, CUI, and classified environments, delivering standardized infrastructure that any program can deploy onto instead of building from scratch \nDeliver government-accredited compute environments (IL-5, IL-6) using internal engineering capacity, replacing the current model of outsourcing each new accredited environment to subcontractors \nDrive Kubernetes standardization, multi-tenant cluster design, service mesh, and workload orchestration across the company’s multi-cloud and on-premises footprint \nPartner closely with the Staff/Principal Platform Engineer and Staff/Principal Network Engineer (who report to the VP) as the senior technical anchors for compute and networking architecture \nCollaborate with Cybersecurity on hardened infrastructure (STIGs, security scanning, network segmentation) and with AI and Data Engineering on the compute and networking layer their platforms run on \nQUALIFICATIONS \n10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering, with 3+ years leading infrastructure teams across multiple technical disciplines \nActive U.S. security clearance, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance \nDeep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud variants) at production scale \nWorking knowledge of networking across complex environments: multi-cloud, on-premises, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation across classification boundaries \nDirect experience building or operating DoD accredited environments (IL-4/IL-5 or higher), with familiarity with NIST 800-53, STIGs, RMF, and the ATO process \nExperience with CI/CD platform design and infrastructure-as-code practices at scale (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) \nTrack record of building and leading engineering teams in high-growth environments where the infrastructure had to scale faster than the headcount \nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE \nExperience in aerospace, defense, or national security technology companies where infrastructure spans classification levels \nBackground managing teams that operate across both unclassified and classified environments with mixed clearance requirements \nExperience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), GitOps workflows, and developer platform tooling \nPrior experience at a high-growth company where a single infrastructure team covered multiple disciplines before specializing into subteams \nFamiliarity with platform engineering “paved roads” operating models that balance standardization with engineering team autonomy \nCOMPENSATION \nBase Salary: Long Beach - $220,000 to $320,000, Denver - $205,000 to $305,000, SF Bay Area - $240,000 to $350,000\nEquity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave \nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education and experience. \nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS \nActive U.S. Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred; must be able to obtain TS/SCI \nWork Location: this role will be fully onsite at our facilities in Centennial, CO, Long Beach, CA, or SF Bay Area, CA\nWork environment is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory. \nPhysical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs. \nThis position will be open until it is successfully filled.
