This is a hands-on management role, balancing people leadership and delivery ownership with active software development.\nWhat You'll Do\nManage and support engineers through regular one-to-ones, feedback, performance reviews, hiring, and career development.\n\nOwn the pod's planning, retrospectives, delivery health, and early escalation of risks.\n\nContinue coding and contribute approximately 1 to 2 pull requests per week.\n\nPartner with product managers and technical leads on prioritization, architecture, and cross-functional alignment.\n\nSupport effective onboarding and maintain clear documentation and ownership boundaries.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nAt least 8 years of software engineering or engineering management experience, with a progressive path from software engineering into senior technical or management roles.\n\nDemonstrated people management experience leading a pod of at least 5 engineers, including hiring and performance management.\n\nRecent experience shipping production software and actively coding in an engineering management role, including hands-on TypeScript skills and substantial backend experience.\n\nExperience with TypeScript and modern web and backend technologies such as React, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.\n\nExperience using AI tools in engineering workflows and familiarity with AI product development practices such as evaluations, experiment design, and dataset curation.\n\nStartup or small-company experience is preferred.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary is $225,000 to $300,000 USD annually.
