You will own mechanical subsystems from concept through working prototype, helping turn complex robotics systems into practical infrastructure.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign mechanical subsystems from initial sketches through prototyping and iteration, choosing appropriate materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.\n\nCreate parts and assemblies in CAD, using hand calculations and FEA to guide design decisions.\n\nBuild and iterate on prototypes using 3D printers, shop tools, and CNC equipment.\n\nIntegrate mechanical designs with motors, sensors, electronics, and actuators on robotic arms and mobile bases.\n\nCollaborate with electrical, software, and robotics teams to develop autonomous systems for production deployment.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nTwo to five years of experience designing mechanical hardware for 6DOF robot arms or comparable multi-axis robotic systems.\n\nA BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAD tools.\n\nHands-on experience taking robot prototypes from concept to working hardware, including mechanisms, joints, drivetrains, or end effectors.\n\nRecent robotics design experience and experience shipping hardware in a startup or small, hands-on team.\n\nPractical fabrication skills, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and use of shop tools.\n\nExperience integrating motors, sensors, or actuators; familiarity with FEA or topology optimization is useful.\n\nAbility to own subsystems independently and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.\n\nAuthorization to work in the United States.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary: $150,000 to $250,000 annually.
