You will own reliable systems end to end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and on-call operations.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and operate data pipelines that ingest large volumes of data into object storage and index it in databases and vector stores for retrieval.\n\nShape storage and retrieval architecture, balancing hot and cold storage, distributed databases, and high-throughput messaging and streaming systems.\n\nDeploy and scale containerized services across environments using orchestration platforms, declarative configuration, and GitOps workflows.\n\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and developer tooling for safe, frequent releases.\n\nHelp operate secure, auditable systems in federal or other regulated environments.\n\nDebug and tune systems across application code, storage, and networking, and mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nFive or more years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production systems, with approximately 5 to 10 years of overall experience.\n\nHands-on experience with AWS production workloads and designing large-scale data storage and retrieval, including hot and cold storage.\n\nA strong foundation in distributed systems, backend engineering, production data pipelines, and end-to-end ownership of systems, including on-call operations.\n\nExperience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated deployments.\n\nExperience running containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with tools and technologies such as Terraform, GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm, Python, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, object storage, and vector or distributed SQL databases.\n\nFederal or regulated-environment experience, including FedRAMP, is helpful. Backend or distributed systems experience is required in addition to any front-end background.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary: $175,000 to $220,000 annually.
