You will serve as the technical partner in pre-sales, helping prospects see how modern data tools can improve research and product development.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead technical pre-sales engagements, from initial demonstrations through value cases, technical evaluations, and pilot execution.\n\nBuild tailored demonstrations, workshops, and pilots around prospective customers' R&D workflows.\n\nPartner with sales colleagues and customer stakeholders to communicate business value and support new customer growth.\n\nPresent technical evaluations and explain how digital R&D data management can support research and innovation.\n\nMentor junior team members supporting technical evaluations.\n\nWrite scripts and configure platform integrations for customer engagements as needed.\n\nTravel 25% to 50% for prospect meetings, presentations, and workshops.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nFour to seven years of experience, including at least four years in digitalization, change management, or leadership in R&D.\n\nAn advanced degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science, ideally with a focus on machine learning or computational methods.\n\nStrong chemistry or materials science expertise and familiarity with enterprise R&D workflows and laboratory informatics.\n\nExperience building and demonstrating technical platforms for enterprise customers, with a value-based pre-sales approach.\n\nExperience in R&D leadership at a large chemical or materials organization is preferred.\n\nPython scripting skills are helpful, as is experience in technical management consulting.\n\nFluent English and advanced proficiency in the relevant local language for European-based candidates.\n\nAbility and willingness to travel regularly, and work authorization in the US, UK, or Germany.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nAnnual salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.\nLocation\nHybrid role based in Munich, Germany.
