True ValueHub is an AI-native B2B SaaS solution for manufacturing companies. We help manufacturing companies save costs on direct material procurement. Our AI engine provides visibility into the true cost of manufacturing products and components globally and reduces sourcing cycle time and new product introduction time to market. We provide detailed total landed cost insights for buyers and suppliers and a secure collaboration platform. Our award-winning technology has been rated as a leading solution in our segment.
We are seeking an out-of-the-box thinker and experienced Component Engineer to design, build, and scale a world-class Component Engineering solution from the ground up. This is not a purely transactional data-entry role; you will architect the strategy to proactively mitigate supply chain risks, optimize inventory, and ensure total environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Infrastructure: Design and execute a holistic Component Engineering framework that integrates seamlessly with Hardware Design, Procurement, and Lifecycle Management tools.
- Lead Time Mitigation: Strategize and implement predictive methods to identify long-lead-time components early in the design cycle and establish mitigation roadmaps.
- Alternate & Drop-in Sourcing: Establish a robust process for identifying, validating, and qualifying pin-to-pin drop-in alternates and functional replacements to ensure continuous production.
- Inventory Optimization: Partner with supply chain teams to balance component commonality across product lines, reducing inventory footprint and excess/obsolete (E&O) risks.
- Lifecycle & Part Status Management: Proactively monitor and manage End-of-Life (EOL) and Product Change Notices (PCN), creating strategic buffering or redesign plans before parts impact production.
- Environmental & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance strategies for global regulations including RoHS, REACH, TSCA, and Conflict Minerals, ensuring full traceability.
- Risk Intelligence: Develop risk-scoring models for the approved vendor list (AVL) based on geopolitical factors, sole-source dependencies, and manufacturer financial health.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 10+ years of deep experience in Component Engineering, Component Management, or Strategic Sourcing within high-tech electronics, automotive, or aerospace industries.
- Strategic Mindset: Proven track record of thinking "out of the box" to solve complex supply chain and design bottlenecks rather than just checking compliance boxes.
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of electronic components, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and PCBA design requirements.
- Tools Expertise: Advanced knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Arena, Agile) and Silicon Expert, IHS Markit, or similar component databases.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to influence cross-functional engineering and executive teams on strategic component choices.
