TrueCar is a California automotive marketplace founded in 2005 and listed on Nasdaq. Its site shows shoppers what others paid for a vehicle and connects them with certified dealers. The company also powers car buying programmes for banks and membership groups.

Who We Are

TRUECar is a leading digital automotive platform that uses technology to help car buyers save time and money through a nationwide network of Certified Dealers. Founded in 2005 by Scott Painter, TRUECar was built on the belief that serving membership and affinity organizations central to the car-buying process, including lenders, insurers, and dealers, enables a more valuable auto-buying experience for new and used vehicles. As part of its platform, TRUECar powers auto-buying programs for over 250 leading brands, including Sam's Club, AAA, and more than 100 credit unions.

We are seeking talented individuals who are energized by our commitment to save consumers time and money. We’ve stripped away typical corporate "bloat" to build a culture rooted in high performance and accountability for results. As a member of the TRUECar Crew, you can have a real & direct impact on our success as we continue to evolve the car buying experience. If this energizes you, apply today!

Your TRUECar Experience

At TRUECar, we offer our Crew members the flexibility to split their work time between home and the office. While many days are remote, we expect our Crew to show up for the moments that matter-gathering in person when a project needs that extra collaborative spark because nothing replaces the energy of solving big problems in the same room. We provide you with comfortable shared workspaces in our Santa Monica headquarters office and other regional locations and equip you with a professional home office setup along with monthly reimbursements for your essentials, like phone and internet.

As a TRUECar Crew member, you will receive excellent benefits and perks that include, but are not limited to, 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental premiums; a 401(k) plan with company contributions; a wellness reimbursement account; and learning & development reimbursement opportunities. We also understand the importance of recharging, so we offer flexible PTO for exempt TRUECar Crew Members and a generous PTO accrual policy for non-exempt TRUECar Crew Members, in addition to 14 company-paid holidays and 2 floating holidays. In short, we care deeply about our Crew Members and have designed employee-centric programs that reflect this.

At TRUECar, we believe in the power of diversity to create a deeper understanding of our consumers and partners, driving innovation in our products. We welcome a workforce that reflects the diversity of car-buying consumers and encourage everyone interested in our mission to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with applicable law. Additionally, TRUECar will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.

TRUECar does not accept unsolicited agency submissions.

The Opportunity:

Product Management at TRUECar leads the integration of engineering, data science, and design to achieve the Company’s vision for reinventing the car pricing and buying experience. As a Product Manager, you’ll join our high-functioning consumer product team where you’ll play a key role in driving the transformation of TRUECar's online car marketplace in order to realize our vision of dramatically improving the way people discover, buy, and sell cars.

How you’ll drive TRUECar’s success:

  • Own the native consumer app roadmap (existing and new features) from ideation through development, launch, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with TRUECar’s mission and strategic objectives
  • Design and optimize features that support the consumer across the entire buying lifecycle-from home-based vehicle research and pricing context to on-the-lot dealership experiences (e.g., location-based features, digital deal building, or inventory scanning)
  • Maintain a deep understanding of how various pieces of a project integrate-including native client-side logic, API layers, underlying algorithms, business logic, and native user interface components
  • Leverage data analysis, market research, and user testing to set team goals, define success metrics for mobile engagement, and monitor app health (crash rates, conversion funnels, retention)
  • Navigate project ambiguity, technical complexity, and interdependencies in an organized, structured way within an agile framework
  • Effectively manage diverse stakeholder relationships, weighing competing priorities and managing trade-offs
  • Evaluate opportunistic new ideas and work toward consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business goals
  • Understand and influence TRUECar’s strategic and competitive positions

Your impact as aProduct Managerat TRUECar:

  • This role will help drive how TRUECar fundamentally changes how people buy cars by putting a powerful, transparent, and confidence-building tool directly in their pockets. By solving the friction points between digital discovery and the physical showroom floor, your work will directly increase mobile conversion rates, drive higher user retention, and ensure TRUECar remains the most trusted co-pilot in the automotive purchasing journey.

Your Expertise:

  • BA/BS in business, computer science, or related discipline and/or 2+ years of previous Product Manager experience
  • Strong understanding of and direct experience with an engineering-first culture and what it takes to build technical products in an agile+scrum environment
  • Communication and Team Building Skills: You thrive in a dynamic, agile environment leading scrum team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Creative growth mindset: Ability to think creatively to define new experiences improving adoption, usage, and reengagement to drive better business outcomes
  • Familiarity and comfort with data, including the ability to use data to analyze and monitor product health, set goals and metrics, as well as aid in the prioritization of initiatives and features
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and take action
  • Detail-oriented, but deftly balanced with holistic system-thinking
  • Automotive industry experience and domain expertise
  • Engineering and/or software development experience
  • Product management experience with business-to-business (B2B) products
