This role involves designing and executing manual and automated tests across UI, API, and database layers, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.\nThis role is expected to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and continuously optimize how work is performed.\nThis is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Vancouver office, working on a hybrid model (3 days per week in-office).\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nExecute the strategic vision using technologies required to ensure the delivery of quality software for the Trulioo SaaS platform.\n\nContribute to bug tracking, test prioritization, test automation, and release validation.\n\nInfluence design by reviewing requirements, behaviour specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover risks before implementation.\n\nDevelop and document full-stack test strategies, design test cases, and conduct manual and automated testing across platforms and technology layers, including UI, API, database, Android, and iOS.\n\nWork with QA engineers across engineering disciplines to apply a test-automation-first strategy and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\n\nMentor and coach junior engineers on the team.\n\nAssist the team in creating and executing basic performance, load, and stress test scenarios with tools such as k6.\n\nRun baseline performance tests and create documentation to capture key metrics such as response times, throughput, and error rates with tools such as Grafana.\n\nLeverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement while ensuring the responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI tools.\n\nUse generative AI development tools such as Codex and Cursor to accelerate test design, automation development, debugging, defect investigation, and technical documentation.\n\nDesign, build, and integrate custom AI tools and agents into internal Quality Engineering workflows.\n\nBuild integrations using Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, tool calling, and existing engineering systems.\n\nApply prompt-engineering techniques to produce accurate, reusable, and maintainable AI-assisted workflows.\n\nReview and validate AI-generated code, test cases, and technical analysis to ensure accuracy, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.\n\nEvaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve product quality and engineering productivity.\n\nFollow security, privacy, and responsible-use practices when using AI tools with source code, customer information, or personally identifiable information.\n\nDesign, build, and integrate custom AI tools and agents into internal workflows while serving as a technical subject matter expert on emerging AI technologies.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n5+ years of hands-on experience developing automated tests using test automation frameworks at the API and UI layers.\n\n5+ years of experience with UI and API testing frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, RestAssured, or similar.\n\nProven experience in at least one scripting or programming language, such as C#, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or similar.\n\nSolid technical understanding of SaaS platforms, REST APIs, web applications, databases, and distributed systems.\n\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\n\nIntroductory experience with industry tools such as k6,JMeter, Locust, or Postman performance testing.\n\nBasic understanding of APIs and how to test endpoints under simulated user load.\n\nFamiliarity with application monitoring tools (e.g.,Grafana, Datadog, New Relic) to observe system health during runs.\n\nPractical experience using generative AI development tools such as Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools in software development or Quality Engineering workflows.\n\nExperience designing prompts and reusable instructions for code generation, test creation, debugging, requirements analysis, or technical documentation.\n\nExperience building or integrating AI agents, AI-assisted automation, or custom internal AI tools.\n\nFamiliarity with MCP, API-based integrations, tool calling, or connecting AI tools to internal systems and development workflows.\n\nAbility to critically review and validate AI-generated code, test cases, and recommendations.\n\nUnderstanding of security, privacy, access-control, and data-handling considerations when adopting AI tools in an enterprise environment.\n\nA Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM field, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience testing mobile platforms, including Android and iOS.\n\nExperience delivering quality products in Agile teams using technologies such as AWS Device Farm, microservices, Docker, and AWS.\n\nExperience building internal tools and quality dashboards.\n\nExperience creating AI agents or workflows that support test generation, requirements analysis, defect triage, failure analysis, test-data creation, or release validation.\n\nExperience developing MCP servers or integrating MCP-compatible tools with engineering platforms.\n\nExperience evaluating AI-assisted workflows for accuracy, consistency, security, latency, cost, and operational value.\n\nExperience establishing standards or best practices
