The primary purpose is to assist actuaries in the analysis of product performance while learning techniques & logic of basic actuarial analysis. The position involves the use of strong analytic and problem solving skills, including sophisticated mathematical analysis and modeling. The position works closely with other actuaries. This position provides training to the incumbent in the Actuarial function and serves as an entry to the Actuarial program.\nJob Responsibilities:\nList of general activities, duties and/or tasks typically performed within the job.\n(25%) Programs and runs computer jobs to collect data and summarizes to assist in various actuarial functions. Provides initial analysis of the data and impact on the company’s financials.\n(35%) Performs actuarial tasks which are of a mathematical and quantitative nature.\n(25%) Compiles and categorizes data, documenting and verifying factors used in computations such as those used in evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, schedules of statistics, financial statements, premiums, benefits and establishing rating and pricing levels.\n(15%) Gains familiarity about specific product lines, company operations, systems and actuarial methodology through completion of actuarial exams.\nActively pursue actuarial accreditation. Also include any required licenses and/or designations.\nBachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics.\nSuccessful completion of two (2) actuarial exams.\nCompletion of one internship prior to graduation.\nCommitment and capability to pass one additional actuarial exam every 6-18 months.\nKnowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite & exposure to database tools and other programming languages (such as C++, Visual Basic).\nEffective listener.
