Our solutions provide legal texts, compliance services, and expert support that enable thousands of online shops to operate with confidence.\nAs a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and operating secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. Working closely with software engineers, a Product Manager, and an Agile Coach, you will help shape our cloud platform, enable development teams through automation and Infrastructure as Code, and contribute to a reliable, observable, and cost-efficient cloud environment.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and continuously improve scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.\n\nContribute to the introduction, deployment, and operation of new services and infrastructure capabilities across their lifecycle.\n\nBuild and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code components with Terraform and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling, primarily based on CircleCI.\n\nHelp establish and evolve standards for monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability to ensure reliable and efficient operations.\n\nSupport cloud governance, AWS resource lifecycle management, cloud cost optimization (FinOps), and cloud security best practices.\n\nApply AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices to improve automation, delivery speed, and operational efficiency.\n\nParticipate in incident response and on-call rotations, while collaborating with internal teams and external hosting providers to ensure reliable operations and maintain supporting infrastructure.\n\nRequirements\n3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS - such as ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, SQS, etc.- along with strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, ideally with Terraform\n\nProven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions, ideally with CircleCI.\n\nSolid scripting or software development skills in Bash, TypeScript or Python.\n\nPractical experience using AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools in DevOps workflows, combined with the curiosity and ability to evaluate emerging AI capabilities.\n\nExperience with containerized environments using Docker and Amazon ECS.\n\nStrong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability concepts (e.g. CloudWatch, Instana), including troubleshooting across applications and infrastructure.\n\nKnowledge of cloud security best practices, AWS governance, FinOps, and experience working with externally hosted environments, complemented by practical experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools.\n\nWhat we offer you\nHybrid work: Combine flexible remote work with team time in the Cologne office (on-site days depending on your location)\n\nWorkation: Temporarily work from a destination of your choice within EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway\n\n28 vacation days\n\n2.5 additional days off at Christmas, New Year's Eve and Carnival\n\nBuddy program (an experienced trustee is at your side)\n\nIndividual learning & development opportunities (internal & external trainings, e-learnings)\n\nEvents (Team Events, Unit Events, etc.)\n\nHealth Pass (free online and offline sports, fitness, and health courses)\n\nPermanent contract with Europe's trusted brand\n\nBUILD A COMMUNITY OF TRUST WITH US - #cometotr us t\nNot sure if you are what we are looking for?
