The role supports timely, high-quality Technical Publishing delivery by producing manuals that meet client requirements, applicable service levels, and TrustFlight quality standards.\nScope & Decision-Making Authority\nWorks within defined task scope, implementing instructed changes from approved sources without making independent technical or content decisions\n\nManages own workload and task prioritisation to meet agreed deadlines and service levels\n\nEscalates unclear instructions, missing information, content conflicts, and capacity constraints to the relevant Author.\n\nOperates within established Technical Publishing processes, styles, templates, and JIRA workflows\n\nKey Relationships\nInternal\nAuthors and Lead Authors: receiving instructed work, raising queries, and confirming completion\n\nOther Technical Editors: collaboration and mutual support across shared workloads\n\nQuality and document control functions: ensuring completed manuals meet required standards\n\nExternal\nClient source materials and instructions, received and clarified through Authors and Lead Authors (the role is primarily internally facing)\n\nClient documentation standards and manual templates, applied during production\n\nSoftware tools supporting manual production (MadCap, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA, MEL Manager), used as required\n\nKey Responsibilities\nImplement instructed changes accurately and completely into manuals and related documentation, collating provided technical content into the required manual structure.\n\nApply required styles, formatting, templates, numbering, references, and document structure consistently across all work.\n\nUse production and task-management systems effectively, including Microsoft Word, MadCap, Adobe Acrobat, JIRA, and MEL Manager, converting documents into required internal tools and formats where applicable.\n\nUpdate task status in JIRA and progress assigned work through the appropriate workflow.\n\nCheck completed work thoroughly before submission or handover, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.\n\nFlag unclear instructions, missing information, formatting issues, inconsistencies, or content conflicts to the relevant Author.\n\nEstimate work effort and communicate progress, blockers, and capacity concerns in a timely manner.\n\nWork collaboratively with the team and support colleagues where appropriate.\n\nKey Metrics for Success\nInstructed changes implemented accurately and completely, with minimal rework or returned work\n\nAssigned tasks progressed and completed within agreed deadlines and service levels\n\nJIRA task status maintained accurately and kept up to date throughout the workflow\n\nConsistent application of required styles, formatting, and document standards across all manuals\n\nAI & Digital Competency\nTrustFlight is an AI-first organisation. references, and structure, with the ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently\n\nClear communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, raise issues appropriately, and
