The team is a dynamic and cross jurisdictional team, with an ethos of collaboration and continued improvement at its heart.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nAs a Senior Accountant at Trustly, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial statements, executing day to day general ledger accounting, and ensuring full regulatory and tax compliance across our US entities, based from our London office.\nWorking in a high growth FinTech environment, you will handle monthly financial closings, bank and account reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal controls under US GAAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented accounting professional looking to step into an innovative global payments business and build scalable financial processes.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonth End Close: Execute month end, quarter end, and year end close routines, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.\n\nFinancial Reporting: Prepare accurate balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances promptly.\n\nCash and Treasury Accounting: Monitor daily bank movements, perform bank reconciliations across multi currency accounts, and track working capital requirements.\n\nTax and Statutory Compliance: Support quarterly and annual US federal, state, and local tax filings (corporate income tax, sales and use tax, commercial rent tax) in coordination with external tax advisors.\n\nAudit Management: Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during annual financial audits, preparing audit schedules, documentation, and workpapers.\n\nProcess Improvement and Systems: Support the implementation, optimization, and automation of core financial systems (e.g. NetSuite, Workday, ERP platforms) and internal controls (SOX readiness).\n\nCross Functional Collaboration: Partner with US Payroll, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Global Finance teams to streamline cross departmental financial inputs and reporting.\n\nQualifications\nThe successful candidate will have:\nACA qualified (or equivalent), alongside experience working with US GAAP.\n\nRelevant accounting experience, preferably from practice.\n\nSolid command of US GAAP principles, financial statement consolidation, and intercompany accounting.\n\nHands on experience with mid to enterprise ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday Accounting) and advanced Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables).\n\nMeticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and the ability to operate independently in a fast paced environment.\n\nOur Fantastic Benefits (varies by location)\n25 days of holiday to support a healthy work life balance\nMonthly team outing allowance to enjoy social events with your colleagues\nParental leave top up, additional support for new parents\nDaily breakfast and on site perks to make your workday smoother\nWellbeing support, our health allowance covers gym memberships, massages, and much more to help you feel your best\nPLUS additional benefits designed to enhance your work life experience!\nShape Your Role and Make an Impact\nJoin a dynamic environment where you can take ownership, drive change, and continuously embrace new challenges.
