Forward Deployed Engineer - Senior
You'll work right next to the client, owning the last mile between a solution that works technically and one that actually gets adopted. Not just building software, and not just advising: both at once.
About the role
A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Tryolabs is a hands-on engineer who builds, adapts, and implements AI/Data solutions in the real context where they'll be used. The role blends software engineering, solutions architecture, product thinking, and technical consulting.
You won't wait for closed specs or tickets. You'll get close to the client, understand the real problem, design and prototype the solution, integrate it into existing systems and workflows, and stay with it until people actually use it and it delivers value.
Day to day, you'll move between writing code, talking to users, detecting adoption frictions, and adapting the solution to how the client really works. You'll partner with client teams and with Tryolabs' Sales and Customer Success teams to spot new opportunities, transfer context, and turn recurring patterns into reusable assets, including proprietary agents for the Gemini Enterprise marketplace.
A good way to put it: an FDE doesn't deliver finished software, they deliver solutions that get used. Success is measured by adoption and impact, not just delivery.
What we're looking for
- Solid experience building software, data products, ML systems, or AI solutions
- Strong Python, SQL, and data skills
- Experience integrating APIs, services, and external systems
- Hands-on experience with agentic coding
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud
- Familiarity with LLM based solutions: RAG, agents, embeddings, or AI applications
- Ability to build fast prototypes without losing production criteria
- Good understanding of architecture, security, permissions, scalability, and monitoring
- Strong communication: able to explain technical concepts to users, managers, and executives
- Genuine empathy for clients and their users, with the ability to build trust and navigate ambiguity
- Ownership: you take things to the finish line without waiting for perfect specs
- Availability to travel and work on site with clients when the project requires it
- Advanced conversational English
- Experience with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, GKE, Dataflow, or similar tools
- Experience in MLOps / LLMOps
- Experience with enterprise products or internal systems of large companies
- Ability to build simple user-facing interfaces
- Experience taking AI/Data projects to production
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or client-facing environments
- Interest in international experiences or relocation if aligned opportunities arise
