If you're ready to join the TSTC family and make great memories please complete our application process.\nJob Description\nThe Staff Auditor performs professional and highly technical auditing work that is closely aligned to auditing as promulgated by International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Texas Internal Auditing Act. Work involves individually performing and performing as part of a team on financial, performance, compliance and IT audit projects. Auditor maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Professional Practices Framework, including the Code of Ethics. This position works independently under general supervision. Has a permanent campus assignment but will be required to assist in projects related to other TSTC campuses and locations.Essential Functions\nPerform audit procedures including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting TSTC processes and procedures. This will include:\nConducting interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing summary memos, and preparing written working papers.\nIdentifying, developing, and document auditing issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being audited.\nEvaluating the adequacy of controls and risk management processes.\nPreparing organized, accurate and competent written work papers ensuring that documentation supports the conclusions regarding each audit objective.\nInteracting and communicating with a managers and employees at all levels of the organization.\nPreparing and disseminating written audit reports of audit results.\nDeveloping and maintaining productive interdepartmental and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.\nParticipate in professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers. This includes seeking professionally recognized certifications and/or licenses.\nPerform administrative functions and other audit related work as assigned.\nEducation/Experience/Knowledge/Skills\nFor operational auditors, Bachelor's degree with major course work in accounting, a business related field, an IT related field from an accredited college or university. \nExcellent written and communication skills, to include independently writing comprehensive and professional audit reports and work papers.\nProficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and ability to learn other software.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality, and conduct self in professional manner at all times.\nAbility to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.\nAbility to meet deadlines set by Audit Director.\nAbility to multi-task.\nTravel may be required up to 30% of time\nThis job descriptions covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nTexas State Technical College (TSTC), as an equal opportunity employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination.
