Motiva is wholly owned by Aramco, one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals companies.\nPosition Overview:\nMotiva is seeking an Associate Process Engineer to join the Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex. The Associate Process Engineer designs, optimizes, and maintains refinery processes to ensure efficient operation and production. This role analyzes data, troubleshoots issues, and implements improvements to ensure excellence in process safety, reliability, energy consumption, and cost management. The Associate Process Engineer utilizes daily proactive monitoring and works closely with business teams to ensure product plan delivery.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide daily proactive technical monitoring and troubleshooting for assigned areas.\nProvide guidance around daily unit optimization as it relates to product yields and quality, catalyst life, equipment health, chemical usage, energy consumption, alarm management, emissions calculations, and economics.\nRoutinely conduct and document unit mass balance monitoring.\nUtilize Causal Learning methodology for problem solving and participate in investigations.\nLead and participate in Process Safety Management work practices such as Management of Change and Process Hazard Analysis.\nIdentify opportunities for margin and energy improvements and drive changes to capture these opportunities via established work processes.\nProvide process engineering support for turnaround (TA) planning and execution to ensure reliability and TA objectives are met.\nProvide support to capital projects to ensure proper implementation and performance when integrated into existing operating units and systems.\nProvide monthly technical assurance reporting to Motiva stakeholders.\nProvide “off hour” and “around the clock” shift coverage for planned unit shutdowns and unplanned unit upsets.\nExperience and Qualifications:\nBasic Qualifications\nMust have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering by December 2026\nCumulative 3.0 GPA, or higher\nExcellent organizational and planning skills\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nEffective communication with all levels of organization\nEffective teamwork in cross-functional situations\nPreferred Qualifications\n1-3 years of relevant process engineering experience\nPhysical Requirements:\nDue to safety sensitive nature of job, must pass annual respirator fit testing\nMove up to 40 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects\nAbility to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, negotiate catwalks, handle heights to 50 feet, etc.)\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)\nWe reserve the right to amend or withdraw Motiva jobs at any time, including prior to the closing date.
