Be part of the journey.\nRole Overview and Responsibilities\nIntroduction\nThe Area Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and supervision of assigned manufacturing departments to support the organization's operational, quality, delivery, safety, and financial objectives. This position provides direction, coaching, training, and leadership to Production Team Members while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.\nPosition Scope:\nResponsible for leading a manufacturing department consisting of approximately 10-25 Team Members.\nResponsible for the day-to-day execution of operational objectives within an assigned functional area.\nSupports short- and medium-term production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities across all shifts within the assigned operation.\nLeads improvement projects of moderate scope and complexity focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.\nUses structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision making to identify opportunities and resolve operational issues.\nWorks cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Customer Support to achieve business objectives.\nMaintains awareness of customer requirements and supports customer-related activities as needed.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nDirect, administer, and control day-to-day operations and activities of assigned departments.\nProvide leadership, support, coaching, and guidance to Production Team Members.\nOwn departmental performance metrics and drive actions to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, efficiency, and cost objectives.\nMonitor, analyze, and communicate KPI trends and implement actions to improve results.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.\nSupport improvements in OEE, labor efficiency, first-pass yield, and on-time delivery.\nDiagnose manufacturing, quality, and process issues; coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective actions.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve constraints.\nEnsure compliance with TT Electronics policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality system requirements.\nDevelop talent through coaching, performance management, training, and succession planning.\nMaintain production records and documentation and perform other assigned duties.\nTypical Allocation of Responsibilities:\nPeople Leadership, Administration, Safety, and Team Development: 50%\nQuality Management, Process Ownership, and Continuous Improvement: 20%\nProduction Planning, Scheduling, and Supply Chain Coordination: 25%\nCustomer Support and External Communication: 5%\nQualifications, Skills and Attributes\nQualifications:\nRequired: High school diploma or equivalent.\nRequired: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.\nRequired: Experience leading teams, projects, or operational activities.\nRequired: Experience using production metrics and performance data to drive results.\nPreferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.\nPreferred: Prior supervisory or leadership experience in electronics manufacturing.\nPreferred: Experience in aerospace, regulated, or high-reliability manufacturing.\nPreferred: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, or Green Belt certification.\nPreferred: Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.\nAbility to interpret and utilize operational performance metrics.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP/MES systems.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.\nThis is position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
