Be part of the journey.\nRole Overview and Responsibilities\nTT Electronics, Bedlington, is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to be responsible for all aspects of supplier quality for the Microelectronics Value Stream.\nAs the Supplier Quality Engineer will support and develop our supplier quality performance across a critical microelectronics supply chain serving aerospace, defence and medical customers.\nYou'll be responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently meet stringent quality, reliability, compliance, and delivery requirements for high-reliability electronic assemblies.\nWorking closely with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, you'll drive supplier improvement activities, manage non-conformances, support supplier qualification, and ensure robust controls are maintained throughout the supply chain.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\nSupplier Quality Management\nActing as the primary quality interface between the business and external suppliers, manage and develop supplier quality relationships. \nMonitor supplier performance using key metrics.\nLead supplier improvement initiatives to achieve measurable outcomes. \nConduct supplier audits, assessments, and process reviews to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.\nQuality Assurance & Compliance\nSupport supplier approval, qualification, and ongoing surveillance.\nEnsure suppliers comply with applicable aerospace, defence and medical quality standards, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures.\nReview supplier documentation including quality plans, inspection reports, certificates of conformity, material certifications, and test data.\nSupport compliance with standards including AS9100 and IPC requirements.\nEnsure supplier processes support traceability, configuration control, and product integrity requirements.\nNon-Conformance & Corrective Action\nLead supplier-related non-conformance investigations.\nDrive structured root cause analysis and verify effectiveness.\nManage supplier concessions, deviations, and containment activities where required.\nSupport investigation into customer complaints and field quality issues linked to supplied materials or components.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI) & Engineering Support\nSupport supplier involvement in new product introduction and manufacturing.\nReview supplier manufacturing capability, process controls, and inspection methods.\nParticipate in design reviews, supplier technical reviews, and risk assessments.\nProvide quality input into component selection, sourcing decisions, and manufacturability reviews.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve supplier processes, reduce variation, and improve first-pass yield.\nPromote a preventative and continuous improvement culture.\nImplement quality tools.\nQualifications, Skills and Attributes\nWhat We Look For:\nExperience in a Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar role within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.\nExperience working with electronic components, microelectronics, semiconductor packaging, PCB assembly, or related technologies.\nA strong understanding of supplier quality management processes and corrective action.\nA proven record of results achieved with suppliers from a continuous improvement approach, ideally within electronic component / system manufacturing.\nExperience conducting supplier audits and process assessments.\nThe ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\nKnowledge of quality management systems and aerospace/defence requirements.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nPractical knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP.\nThe following would enhance your application but are not essential to apply:\nExperience within aerospace, defence, space, medical, or other regulated industries.\nFamiliarity with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.\nKnowledge of IPC standards, soldering processes, assembly standards, inspection techniques, and reliability testing.\nExperience with electronic component supply chains and obsolescence management.\nLead Auditor qualification or equivalent.\nThis is an onsite role, based at our Bedlington manufacturing facility, a flagship manufacturing site within the TT Power & TT Components Divisions, manufacturing electronics components, and microelectronic assemblies, within ISO class 6 & class 7 clean room environments.
