Be part of the journey.\nRole Overview and Responsibilities\nIntroduction\nThe Test Troubleshooter is responsible for testing, analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, and validating complex printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and box-build electronic products. This position supports In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), Environmental Chamber Testing, and customer-specific test processes. Using schematics, engineering documentation, test procedures, and diagnostic equipment, the Test Troubleshooter identifies root causes of failures and performs component-level repairs to restore products to full compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.\nThe ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, is proficient in interpreting electronic schematics and test data, and is certified or capable of certification to IPC Class 3 workmanship standards. The role requires independent decision-making, effective communication with Engineering, Quality, and Production personnel, and a commitment to achieving customer quality and delivery objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nOperate and support In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Test (FCT), Environmental Chamber Testing, and other customer-specific test platforms.\nAnalyze test failures using schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation.\nPerform component-level troubleshooting to isolate root causes using systematic diagnostic methods.\nUtilize electronic test equipment including Digital Multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, signal generators, frequency counters, and other diagnostic tools.\nInterpret analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal circuits and associated test results as applicable.\nPerform Class 3 soldering, rework, and repair of through-hole and surface-mount electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC standards and customer requirements.\nDocument troubleshooting activities, repair actions, root cause findings, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems.\nComplete required defect reporting, failure analysis documentation, and nonconformance records.\nSupport Engineering in evaluating recurring failures and identifying corrective actions.\nVerify product conformance through retest and validation following repair activities.\nSet up, verify, and maintain test fixtures, cables, adapters, and support testing operations.\nFollow established test procedures, work instructions, ESD controls, workmanship standards, and quality requirements.\nEnsure proper handling of electrostatic-sensitive devices and assemblies.\nCommunicate effectively with Production, Quality, Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, and customers when required.\nPrioritize workload to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments.\nMaintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives related to test yield, repair effectiveness, and process efficiency.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\nQualifications, Skills and Attributes\nQualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.\nStrong understanding of electronic theory including voltage, current, resistance, power, capacitance, inductance, frequency, analog and digital circuit operation, and schematic interpretation.\nAbility to troubleshoot electronic assemblies to the component level.\nExperience using electronic diagnostic and test equipment.\nAbility to identify failure modes and perform root cause analysis.\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and controlled documentation.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.\nAbility to work effectively in a high-mix, low-volume contract manufacturing environment.\n\nPrerequisites:\nOption 1: Associate degree, technical degree, military electronics training, or vocational certificate in Electronics Technology or a related field and a minimum of one (1) years of experience in electronic test, troubleshooting, and repair.\nOption 2: Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies at the component level in a manufacturing environment and successful completion of a company troubleshooting assessment with a passing score of 80% or higher.\nPreferred Qualifications: Experience within a Contract Electronics Manufacturing (EMS/CM) environment; experience supporting aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, or other high-reliability electronic products; familiarity with ICT, Functional Test, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, Class 3 electronics assembly and rework experience; MES, ERP, and traceability system experience.\nTraining Requirements:\nIPC-A-610 Certification (Class 3)\nJ-STD-001 Certification (Class 3)\nIPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification\nESD Awareness and Control Training\nProduct-Specific and Customer-Specific Test Training\nIn-Circuit Test (ICT) and Functional Test Equipment Training\nEnvironmental Chamber Training\nQuality Management System and AS9100 Awareness Training\nSafety and Regulatory Compliance Training\nCompany Procedures, Work Instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\nEmployees are expected to maintain all required certifications and complete refresher training as required.\nPhysical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by Team Member to successfully perform of the essential functions of this job.\nMedium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to otherwise move objects\nConstantly reach, lift, grasp, talk, hear 90-100% of the time; frequently stand, walk, finger, feel, and do repetitive motion 60-90% of the time; Occasionally balance, push, and pull 30-60%\nVisual Acuity: The Team member is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities for operation of machines, including visual inspection, using measurement devices; and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes. Ability or increased ability to see color, or perceive color differences, under normal lighting conditions.\nWork Environment: The Team member is subject to inside environmental conditions and rarely (0-30%) subjected to outside environmental conditions. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to increase volume in order to be heard above ambient noise level.\nSafety is a core responsibility of this position.
