In this role, you will oversee a team of talented engineers developing real-time embedded C++ software, while collaborating closely with Mission Systems Hardware, Systems Integration, Quality, and Program Management. This is a high-impact leadership position that blends people management, technical vision, and project execution with direct influence on some of the most advanced defense and commercial systems in the field.\nLocation: Farmingdale, New York\nAdditional information can be found at www.ttm.com\nMust have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship.\nThe Real Time Software Manager is responsible for the following areas:\nLead a team of approximately 10 engineers through the full lifecycle of design, development, integration, test, verification, and certification of Radar and Communication systems\nProvide mentorship, coaching, talent development, and performance feedback to cultivate a high-performing software engineering team\nDefine, track, and report on team performance metrics; implement process improvements to drive productivity and quality\nDevelop, execute, and monitor software project plans that meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives\nPartner with Program Managers, customers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, plans, and deliverables\nManage cost accounts using Earned Value Management (EVM) practices\nIdentify, track, and mitigate project risks; proactively pursue opportunities to improve outcomes\nDrive technical strategy and architecture decisions aligned with business and program goals\nChampion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering excellence\nManage resource allocation and lead hiring efforts to build a well-balanced, effective team\nEnsure clear, effective communication within the team and across disciplines\nEnforce compliance with applicable processes, standards, and engineering best practices\nLead software proposal and estimate activities\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field\n10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a full software development lifecycle environment\n3+ years in a formal leadership role (technical lead, team lead, or engineering manager)\nHands-on experience with modern C++ and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)\nExperience managing programs with Earned Value Management (EVM)\nDemonstrated experience developing or leading development of real-time embedded software for defense systems such as Radar or Communication platforms\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and non-technical stakeholders alike\nPreferred:\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices (GitLab, Jenkins, Git Bash, Jira, Artifactory)\nExperience with automated testing frameworks\nKnowledge of Radar, Surveillance, and/or Communication systems\nFamiliarity with avionics software standards and certifications\nCompensation and Benefits:\nTTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs.
