These include design efforts ranging from simple RF microwave components to complex microwave assemblies driven by customer or internal specifications. Design includes 3D-simulations, design optimization based on fabrication tolerances, and assessing performance relative to requirements. Individual works in a multi-disciplinary team environment and is required to participate in proposal efforts and technical reviews. Position also includes verification and qualification of the designs.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nUnderstand customer specifications and drawings to assist in proposal and development efforts.\n\nAssist in estimating timeframe of design efforts.\n\nWork independently or within a team environment. Ensure that project schedules are met.\n\nWork with interns, test engineering, and engineering technicians on specific program tasks including test procedure development, test station development and data reduction software.\n\nDesign and evaluate components using available design and layout tools.\n\nFollow established standard design process.\n\nUnderstand manufacturing approach and limitations. Perform review before design release.\n\nPrepare presentations for gated internal and customer design reviews. Provide nominal simulation results along with tolerances analysis.\n\nDesign and evaluate test circuits. Correlate expected performance with test results. Perform data reduction and present results in a clear and concise manner.\n\nProvide support once design is in production. Support MRB process. Provide reports to customers as needed.\n\nProvide training and guidance to interns, co-ops and technicians.\n\nEngage with professional development activities including trade shows/conferences and professional societies.\n\nJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nSolid understanding of microwave theory including transmission-line concepts. Ability to take these ideal concepts and transform them into producible designs.\n\nAbility to design experiments, analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving.\n\nMust possess strong written and verbal communication skills to document technical specifications and furnish design review presentations.\n\nStrong working knowledge of AutoCAD, HFSS and circuit simulation tools.\n\nStrong interpersonal and leadership skills.\n\nStrong time management skills.
