Our proprietary technology tackles the challenges of large-scale production with an elegant robotic automation system that cuts costs, reduces labour, eliminates human error, and boosts efficiency.\n As a Senior Platform Engineer working within our software engineering group, you’ll design the architecture needed for our test, build and deployment pipelines as well as the services that underpin our factory software. You will guide technical decisions covering our full technology stack including on-prem hardware, hypervisors, container orchestration, platform services, application software, robotics and cloud.\nYou’ll be a subject matter expert who is able to provide practical help and guidance to allow the whole team to make the most of our platform. This includes advising on regulatory and security best-practices for local continuous integration and remote factory production environments.\nThis is a hands-on role. You’ll regularly diagnose issues with CI/CD pipelines, perform maintenance, deploy into new factory networks and review the contributions of others in the team.\nThis is an opportunity to join a truly multi-disciplinary team and broaden your skillset. As well as working within an established software group, you’ll regularly collaborate across robotics, systems engineering and test teams.\n What you’ll bring\nYou’ll have a strong background in the design, implementation and deployment of platform infrastructure and services to enable rapid and robust delivery of software to both in-house and remote environments. Your open and collaborative working style combined with a breadth of technical knowledge will allow you to work effectively with the whole team.\nEssential:\nExcellent understanding of automation tools and scripting for infrastructure and platform management (Terraform, Ansible, python, bash).\n\nAbility to design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines backed by high quality technical documentation. Strong understanding of DevOps best practices (BitBucket/GitHub, Jenkins/CircleCI etc).\n\nPractical experience in some of the following: setting up servers, networking, storage, virtualization, containerization or cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).\n\nExperience designing and deploying infrastructure for software delivery to on-prem and remote environments.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills when supporting developers and other stakeholders to make best use of our platform.\n\nDesirable:\nInterest or previous experience working with robotic automation systems or in regulated environments.\n\nUnderstanding of security best-practices in DevOps.\n\nDemonstrated ability to gather and refine technical and business requirements.\n\nAbility to evaluate and integrate new technologies into an existing platform.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nDegree or vocational qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.\n\n5 years’ experience in software, DevOps, platform or infrastructure roles.\n\n Cellular Origins is currently based on the TTP Campus, within purpose-built sustainable offices, labs and green surroundings, 10 miles south of Cambridge.
